Pick-up my 2006 Pure Silver MCS 6 spd today!

I go to finish the purchase of my 06 Pure Silver MCS 6 spd today! Wanted a MCS for 5 years now, and I am finally getting one!

Have a couple questions though:
I have the Sport & Premium packages, so the 3 spoke MFSW is on it, but I understand the bluetooth phone kits from the dealer don't work with the buttons on the steering wheel. What is the best bluetooth kit to get for this?

Also, there is no spare tire, and run-flats seem pretty damn expensive! I tend to go through tires quickly, and was wondering what some people have done about storing a spare tire in the back. Any pictures? Does anyone sell an aftermarket spare tire kit for the MCS?

Thanks!
--Robert

A space saver spare fits nicely behind either of the front seats, that's what I've used. There is also a NAM member that sells nice cloth tire bags for storage. Look up Jerseygirl for the info.

Welcome Robert! I saw a PS/PS for the first time the other day. Very nice looking car you have there. I know nothing of phones with blue teeth. I just bought a space saver for my MCS. Now I have to get a bag for it.

First, you can buy a set of non run-flats. Then pick up a doughnut spare for an MC and pick out a colorful tote bag from JerseyGirl......The Bag Lady. These fit perfectly behind the driver's seat. Once you have a jack and a lug nut wrench......you're in business.

Poke around in the Nav/Audio forum for BT suggestions. NewMINIStuff has wiring harnesses that enable the MFSW buttons for the Nokia CK-7W and Parrot EVO 3000 BT kits. You can save some cash by finding the kits in the US, but buying the wiring harness from Mike.

I haven't installed either yet as my car is still en route. But I'm leaning towards the Parrot.

Thanks everyone for all the feedback! It's actually a PS / Blk roof & mirrors, no stripes!

I went ahead and ordered the Parrot EVO kit from NewMINIStuff, I'll let you know how it goes. I also ordered a MINI Circuit from GBMINI, I can already tell I am not going to be a fan of the DSC.

Thanks again everyone!

You got a hot color but then again we're alike.

Don't waste your money on the dealer bluetooth. It will only work with a few outdated phones. Get a aftermarket kit. Aftermarket kits won't use the MFSW buttons but will work.
