Alta Cai Whistles @ 3k

Does anyone with a MCS with an ALTA CAI have a problem with a high pitch whistle at around 3000 rpm.

Hmm..maybe someone else can chime in. I know that around 2500rpm the Supercharger starts to kick in. Maybe @ 3k its fully alive and kicking

Check your connections, it sounds like you might have a leak around one of the fittings and air is rushing in (or out) where it shouldn't.

Resonance whistle is caused by a certain speed of air flowing through the cai. Faster or slower, and the literal 'whistle' dissapates.

Normal, especially for an unrestricted intake.

Mine whistles throughout the entire range as well, its annoying as hell. I love the sound of the supercharger but the whistle of the Alta cai is very annoying. I am seriously considering the M7 AGS and selling the Alta.

My question is why you are at 3000 rpm? 6800 is a much better rpm (or in my car, 7800 )

No whistle from mine. The supercharger screams under full throttle louder than stock, but no whistle or anything when cruising.

Same here, no annoing whistle, had it on for 75k miles now. I would check for something loose somewhere.

That whistle is not a problem; it's a feature. I've heard it on every Alta CAI-enabled car I've driven, and it always manifests at 3K RPM.

Yeah, I have the "whistle". To me it sounds like someone rubbing a metal brush against an old fashioned metal garbage can. It is annoying at particular speeds/rpm's. . . . But I do like to hear the whine of the supercharger when I get on it.

If only there was an intake that I did not have to hear. . . .
