nice sssssssssssuper license plate, wish I could get that number in CA, here every combination I can think of is always taken.

I'm in no hurry to add a front plate, guess I'll keep that way until someday a cop decides enough is enough. Do you find the front plate to restrict air flow to the radiator? I'm thinking about drilling some holes on the plate one day if have to put it on, not sure if that's legal though.

Oh btw just tested my newly installed racks, like the looks so far. I painted the roof rack end caps with some cheap paint, so cheap that it's easily scrapped off by a finger nail, looks I need to rework on that part.

Your roof rack looks good. Did you do anything to rust proof the holes you had to drill?

Hong,

I purchased a "No Holes Front Plate Holder" from GoMiniGo. I probably won't put it on either unless I need to take care of a fix-it-ticket. I ran for two years with no front plate on my Miata without a hassle from the boys in blue. On the other hand, I got pulled over in my Yukon because I had a clear plastic cover over my rear plate. Just got a warning on that one. I guess they're concerned about folks using the toll roads with the polarized plate covers that make it impossible for the cameras to see your license plate number. Just my $0.02.

Cool roof rack by the way.

Phil

The installation instructions request a layer of 'zinc powder paint', sounds too much to me. So I simply painted the cut with some left over silver touch up paint, then I used a lot of silicon sealant to fill the tiny gap between the roof skin and stud bolt. Hope it will last, since there is no way to redo it, although I can't see how, once screwed in, these bolts are self locked.

wow, our thead slips to 3rd page, well I have a little update before it completely disappears.

The odo reaches 1.5k miles, so I did my version of first scheduled maintenance, oil change. Turns out it's a lot easier than I thought, guess I read too much oil change treads. Other than removing the power steering fan conduct, I also loose one piece of exhaust heat shield aside the oil filter for easy access. Both drain plug and filter are so loosely tighten in factory it surprises me there is no oil leak.

I bought two oil filters from an ebayer in UK for less than two bucks each, shipping included
Wouldn't say I feel a difference on driving but definitely see it

What oil did you decide to go with?
You're comment about reading too many threads on oil change difficulty is too funny.
