Production Week 5 Support Group
daemon, how are your babies doing?
Some quick updates, the whole delivery process is pretty smooth, except at one point I realized my wallet was left on the cab, and I probably couldn't get my car back home without the driver's license, luckily the cab driver found it in time and quckly returned to me just when I was becoming desperate
.
With a huge relief, I managed to work out a deal with my MA to have him throw a set of 'S' rubber floor mats, as a return favor I have to give him a all A feedback, tell me it's a fair deal
At first I couldn't see the $300 price jump on my bill, only after back home I figured out the price was included in the base MSRP ($20900). So Mini is indeed serious about this and I didn't get away.
And no free cake from South Bay Mini this time
My original plan is to pay a visit to port Hueneme first, followed by a nice drive through Big Sur, plenty of photo opportunities. It didn't work out well as I found myself spending a good one and half hour on peeking around the port, and just couldn't find a damn entrance to get in or even closer.
By the time I finally got out with empty hands I was really hungry, I decided to take a dinner break in Santa Barbara, then watched sun going down, I realized my photo plan was gone with it.
I had to get up early yesterday to give it a complete wash, followed by layers of Zaino stuff, boy cleaning up the web spoke wheels is such a pain. I worked my butt off all the way to the night after putting up all the accessories I bought earlier, except roof rack. Putting up clear bra is a lot harder than I thought because all of the curves on the hood.
So far, milage 440, average mpg 24.7, I plan to do a lof of driving in the weekend to finish the break in asap, I tried hard to keep engine rev under 3500rpm, it's painful.

7 odo read at the start.

I think my first plate helped my Mini survive the LA traffic, it's quickly washed away by the rain though.

I love the web wheels, even if it's a pain in the *** to clean them.

Stearns wharf, Santa Barbara. My sunset photo plan was gone with the dinner break.

Hong, Looking Super!
Great photo of the impending pacific storm. Now get 'er butt up to Saratoga and break in that Cooper S proper - Thompson style on big Basin Way. The airplane turns up top are a full g-force rush. Make sure to do this when traffic is minimum, and of course keep it within the speed limit. Enjoy dude!
Car looks Great Hong

My Mini is here, it has been here for 7 days now but my MA says the rail company will not release it. I should have taken delivery already.
It would be ideal if I could pick up my baby girl from the hospital in my Mini. Lets see how it works out.
Yes Sir, that's my mission this weekend, I just found out the flash card of my camera was lost, have to make a trip to Fry's first.
Looks like the rain is going to hang around for another week or two, I'm hesitant to drive my Mini, car wash in winter is not fun.
What's everybody's milage so far?

03/14/2006 - 348 miles. I washed on Sunday am and 10 min later it started to rain again, 40 deg out. Grrrr. I had to take the wife and daughter down to my buddies an hour away for their first experience with GT4 and then literally kick them off and race my friend on his 2-person networked setup. So, the Cooper S got kind of dirty again. I did whip his **** on Sears Point in the BMW M3 GTR!!
I've got the nasty ATE front brake dust grunge black spots all over the paint right behind the front wheels and on the rear body too. MINI wheel cleaner works GREAT on the rims. Time to try the Waxoyl Magic Clay System we sell at the shop for the paint >>

Thanks everyone for the support.

It's good to see everyone putting on the miles and posting. Keep it coming.

Whew!
Ok, the girls are all home and safe now. I, unfortunately, have to get back to work tomorrow.
The upside is I am already dreaming of the different ways I can get to work in my MCS!
Counting hours now.
I received a call from the dealership today confirming my appointment for pick up.
I can't wait.
( I think thats the most smilies I've put in a single post)
