Newbie in Central NJ

I've been reading NAM for a few weeks now as we purchased a 05 MCSa EB/W with premium package, front fog lamps, checkerboard sunroof and DSC in June for my wife. My wife has been good enough to allow me to drive Twiggy to work a couple of times a week and I have grown to really enjoy my time behind the wheel - so much so that I ordered my own on Dec. 30! I called ASK-MINI today and spoke to a representative there who told me that Duke is scheduled for production the week of Jan. 23 (guess I need to join the week 4 support group). Duke is a MCS HB/S with premium package, front fog lamps, chrono, DSC and LSD. Can't wait until he arrives! Probably time for a second job to support the new dependents.

Welcome to the club !! Did you order your MINI from Princeton or Morristown? I ordered mine from Princeton right before Thanksgiving and it is supposed to be completed next week and arriving early Feb.

I am seeing an increasing number of MINIs on the streets of Central Jersey - and expecially in the parking lot at Princeton Junction (typically 5-10 park there each day). My daughter's gym teacher even drives a wonderful yellow and black Cooper to school every day.

Counting the days until I get out there with mine..... Yes, indeed, the wait is the hardest part of the process !!

Jersey_Bill, I purchased both Minis from Princeton - I live in Jackson and work in Trenton so it was the closest dealer for me. I will definitely check out NEMINI. Thanks.

That parking lot is a real trip - the "station cars" that people bring range from Porche 911s and new Jaguar XKEs to full-blown Hummers... Still, the MINIs are catching up - I walk the length of the lot every day and keep track of the growing number. On a slow day it is 4 or 5 but often many more - and there seem to be more almost weekly - I get excited when I see new ones joinng the herd.

My MINI is due in a month or so - and I just can't wait to have her greet me at the end of a long day for the ride home!

Bill

Hey Hugh, I used to live up in your neck of woods. Had a house in Rockaway, moved to Budd Lake for 7 years and then migrated down to Jackson in '92. It's beautiful up around Budd Lake - I'm sure that you have found some nice twisty roads up there to motor on. After living in Jackson for so long, I had forgotten how hilly it was up North until I had to run an errand up there last fall.

Hi there rhawth99,
I was flipping around and found your thread. I am just down the road on the other side of Ft Dix. Have you found some of the awsome roads around the neighborhood. Just off of 537 around New Egypt and back behind the Vetreans Cemetary.
There are few of us "MINI"s around here, we sometimes go for a Sunday afternoon ride.

Sorry for the delay, I just this minute caught your reply. Yep. I guess Waterloo Road from Byram to Hackettstown provides the greatest workout...I run it almost every day.

Rt 537 was our closely guarded secret for returning North from Beach Haven on Sunday nites when the Parkway was a parking lot, which was always.

We had the option to buy a home in Lakewood back in the '70s, but couldn't tear ourselves away from the streams and hills of the Sussex/Morris/Warren area. Guess were just hillbillies at heart.
