I got my stripes!!

Finally.....!!!......

After three months of watching PPE's stripes, got the news from my MA that my factory stripes have arrived.

Turned in my baby......and have to say that the stripes do something to the car......

Will post some pics tomorrow.

For those who are interested, got the new silver stripes from Mini, to go woth Solitaire's silver roof

SO SO SO Happy to read this!
I can not wait to see the photos! Stripes really pull the whole thing together!

I love my car! I did not know that I could love a car until I got this car! Personalizing the car is a lot of the fun! I have some small window stickers and a personalized plate, etc.. Have a blast with it!

I feel THRILLED that we inspired you!!!!!!!!!!!

Thnx!!!

We had to take delivery without the stripes coz that would have delayed delivery till November. So got the baby w/o stripes (pipping you to delivery by a week!!!).

The stripes finally got in yesterday and Solitaire was delivered with her stripes on today!!

Have to say, Westchester Mini have done a wonderful job matching the hood scoop to the stipes!!

Congrats - want to see a pic!!! Don't stripes make it like its a whole new car. I feel the same way as PPE does about her car. I have never had a car to customize - and am just so proud of Minerva. Just love seeing personalized Mini's - you get to see a bit into their owners personalities.

It only starts with one mod - it never ends .

It's all up to the individual, of course, but (for the first time on NAM) I would warn against one thing....effacement. You've seen it...I've seen it...more than I care to admit. I propose that cosmetic mods can be pursued to a point...an apex...and then beyond that point one should proceed w/ caution. It can be overdone, becoming comical, or even garish.

I applaude those who have a vision (like Sasha, PPE, and others), especially a vision that is comprehensive and unified, and then carry it out. That's super...even fantastic! But w/ so much aftermarket stuff available now, I recommend restraint beyond that. Go with the vision, I say, then step back and study carefully. Use Photoshop (or similar) to try out embellishments to see if they are really called for. Do they fit into the overall scheme. More... simply for the sake of more (or even boredom)...is definitely not better. You-ify, but do it w/ class. I've seen MINIs taken quite far, and when done in a unified, comprehensive fashion...it works!!

End of sermon....all my opinion.

As promised...

..a picture of Solitaire with her stripes....

I gotta say this...while the opinion of the stripes in our household is 50-50 (I like it, my wife, whose idea the stripes were, wasn't as thrilled), I think that stripes add a lot of personality to the Mini. Hope that wifey grows to like the stripes as time goes on.....

As an aside, I was at a signal today, and this Jeep Grand Cherokee pulls up next to me. I glance around and notice that the driver of the Jeep and her passenger were waving frantically at me...I lower my window.....and they are like "Wow!!! Perfect color and nice stripes.......Cute looking too!!! I bet you can get this car into any tight place you want to!!".

Thanks, Annette.

If it weren't snowing and dark, and if my wifey wasn't such a spoil-sport, I would still have been outside admiring them!!!!

They really add another dimension to the character of the Mini!!
