Hello, I normally don't join forums. I build customs of my own design and fell in love with Mini's ( I have 3 now ) but am overwhelmed by Minis electronics ( I'm old school ) my first problem to overcome is the transmission. I'm looking for members who know Aisin inside and out. First: can I put a 2010 automatic into a 2006. Second: can you run the trans manually ?, without a TCM. Any help is appreciated.

I would get a the aisin from the same period and chassis, i know they changed things over the years with the TCU and wiring. R53/r52 S auto to manual swap would be the best if you want to go manual.

 

Sorry I've been on Holiday. Don't want to swap. Maybe if someone can tell me if 2006 has the same bolt pattern as a 2007-2011. Plus not many 2006 automatics around.
