Hi from chilly Nebraska

Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. I am in Nebraska where it is currently a balmy 1 degree! My MC is still in production, but I fear I am already obsessed with her. She will be dressed in hyper blue and I am sort of glad she is not here yet as I hesitate to welcome her to NE in these cold temps!

Seriously though, I am quite looking forward to putting her through her paces, my favorite car of the past had to be my 71 MGB. Not that fast, but a great handler and she was a driver's car all the way. I suppose that the MINI will supplant the MG as my favorite but there can be only one! Can't wait to find out.

Love the posts here. Everyone seems so helpful and friendly-unlike most folks these days. We need more MINI-minded people out there!

Cheerio!

Steve.

Welcome Steve, I'm in chilly Lexington Nebraska. I know what you meen about the introduction of cold weather. Mines been in my garage since the 2nd of Jan. Got it in Nov. Have 3438 miles now and love it. Its everything they say it is and more. Probably gonna get it out this weekend. Gotta watch the gravel though they put on the highways. Rocks and windows. When are you getting yours and where?

Salutations from almost-as-chilly Kansas. Are you getting your blue
beauty from Baron MINI in K.C.? You will be pleased to know that my MINI
actually runs better in the cold - hope you got the heated seats!

Welcome to NAM Steve!

A 71 MGB. That is my second favorite car! My MC being the first! What color was yours? The Hyperblue MC is such a great color! You'll love it! I saw it at the LA AUto show Tuesday night and If I were to order my car today I'd have to go with that color! Then again my Cooper is Indi blue!

Well, enjoy the board, galleries and hopefully it will make the wait go by faster!

Welcome to NAM and the Art of Western Motoring!

Contact us at President@MINI5280.org (or www.MINI5280.org) and we will keep you in touch about rides, events and happenings out our way.

Perhaps you can enjoy Motoring in the Rockies as much as we do...

Replies to above!

Good to know the MINI runs well in the cold as it is currently -5! Wow.
Great to get some feedback from local MINI owners.
I am getting my MINI from Baron MINI in KC. My wife is from KC so we get there fairly frequently. They seem to be fairly friendly and have been easy to deal with so far.

My old MG was teal blue which is a little brighter then hyper blue but I think they are pretty close.

She should be here early March!

I also can't wait to get her on the twisties in the Rockies. My family has a place in Estes, so I will definitely be out there this summer motoring! Any excuse to go to CO is welcome!

Right now, on the north and east sides of denver it's foggy and verrry cold. however, to the west and south suburbs where it's higher it's twenty degrees warmer and clear. We are like the literal edge of the cold. freaky stuff

PS my 05 S loves the cold air, runs like a race car (no mods)

Hey Mr. ***:

If you EVER come to CO in the MINI (Estes or otherwise) without letting us know ahead of time, the we definitely will NOT arrange a ride for you. Otherwise, we always need an excuse and we have MANY motorers in NorColo, not the least of which is Sequence.

Southern WYOMING offers great Motoring, as does CO west of where you are.

Please stay in touch at the MINI5280 Forum or at President@MINI5280.org.

Thanks,

Jonathan Souza
