Hello from N.C.!

Recently I came across a sweet little 2010 mini s and couldn’t resist getting it for my daily driver.

I’m a long time vw bug (the old ones) enthusiast and love the compact size and lines. So naturally my eye was drawn the little mini instantly.

I’ve been lurking on here for the better part of 2 months, researching mods, tips and tricks. So far I’ve put an oil catch can, k&n filter in the stock airbox, and nm lowering springs.

I don’t really plan to get too wild with it, but I am interested in a downpipe. Maybe the MarioKart one? Not sure, still researching to see if it would work on a stock r56 s without throwing a CEL. Maybe a borla exhaust or something similar later down the road.

Anyway, just wanted to quit lurking and actually join in on the forum.

Welcome to the family. How close to the dragon are you? I know you guys are locked down, but my parents live in Sevierville. So once we are freed and I can make it down there, I’m taking some dragon therapy one day and Devil’s Triangle another and would love to motor with some other mini’s.

 

I’m about 3.5hrs away. I have several friends that ride sumos there. Always wanted to go. Would be a great weekend stress reliever trip!

 

I live in Cincinnati, so technically it’s about a 6 hour trip, that’s worth every mile.

I love vintage VWs as I learned to drive on a Super Beetle.

For mods I would honestly suggest going with an intercooler before doing downpipe or other mods as you need to get the intake temps down and that will make power.
