Hello all from Houston....new owner of first Mini

My 2005 Mini Cooper S

Hi all, I've been reading the forum for a while since I bought this car but it's been sitting since I bought it due to all the issues. I'm finally getting around to working on the car so it's time so say hello because I'm going to need some help with information. I'm a Mustang guy, not a Mini guy....until now.

Great looking MINI. Sure doesn't look like it has any issues from the pictures.

Actually, funny you ask. I called you yesterday......and I'm coming to Atlanta in 3 weeks in this car if I get all the issues worked out and I plan on stopping by your shop. My biggest unknown at this moment is the noise coming from the front end on the passenger side. It makes a sound, I guess I'd call it clanking as it sounds metallic (kinda like a heim joint on a race car) at very low speed and impact like simply backing off the one and a half inch ledge leaving the garage or going into and out of the driveway. Suspension seems very tight and I can't find any looseness but it is so stiff it's hard to tell. I've replaced the struts with Bilstiens and also replaced the strut mounts but the issue persists. I have time to replace anything I need and the car is up with the entire front off now so I'd like to fix it if I can.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Thanks, but I hate white wheels so in the garage I have a brand new set of Rota B Royal Lip in Hyper Black that will be on the car when it comes off the jack stands sometime next week!!
