Allow me to introduce myself

My name is Mark Shadwell. I drive a dark gray 2007 Mini Cooper S. If you have been around Charlotte or to MOTD you may have seen me. I drive one of the only Mini Coopers with a spare tire on the back.

Hi Mark.

How did you mount your spare tire, Is there a cover on it? Like a continental kit?

Post a picture of it.

It was installed by a company called Minifini. They used to be a vendor at MOTD but not anymore.

Your spare tire solution answers a question with a lot of debate especially for those of us with convertibles.

I'd say welcome to the forum, however, thank you for the introduction may be better in light of your November 2009 joining date.

The spare mount is fascinating. I need a bike rack somehow, and this gives me hope. Nice setup!

I recently relocated to Charlotte and was looking to join a Mini club. I had forgotten I had already joined this one in 2009. Can anybody tell me of a good, reputable, honest Mini mechanic in the Charlotte area?

Hi and welcome to NAM!
An unusual way to hold a spare, for sure!

There is a member of PhillyMINI with that same setup on her 'vert. It's an interesting way to go!

Welcome to NAM...nice looking spare tire mount. MiniFini is a great company. I have their trailer hitch and it is a bear. They make interchangeable accessories such as a bike rack and other things. A great company to deal with. Saw you at MOTD.
