Allow myself to introduce...well myself!!

Hi boys and girls....I'm new here....I made the switch from a 98 VW Jetta GLX that was modified every way possible...interior, exterior, engine, suspension....well everything besides the paint....I've since sold that car and am the proud new owner of a used Pure Silver 2002 Cooper...I've had the car almost 2 weeks now and I love it!!!! When I bought the Mini, I told myself....self, your NOT gonna modify this one...it's your daily driver and your gonna keep it that way....well that lasted all of 4 days...I've already started buying "stuff" and every day I find a new website that has something I want or has given me an ideas to make her the way I want. I've got a list of questions I'm trying to find answers to but I'll ask them in the proper forums....I really just want to say HI to everyone and put up a pic so ya'll can see what I'm working with....some of the cars I've seen here are really really nice and I hope to get to that point one of these days!!!!

I haven't figured out a name for her yet....but here she is for all to see

Welcome to the addiction (or should I say another addiction). What part of the country are you in? The picture looks like the midwest.

great looking car!

Johnny G... that's a great looking little cooper you have there. Enjoy and don't modify it too much... she looks great just the way she was born!

ahhhh another V Dub makin the switch. welcome. as a current owner of a 84 rabbit gti and a past owner of a 91 jetta and a 95 golf (all 3 modded) i know where your coming from.
the Minis are great the way they are from the factory but, i can say that the mods for these cars are amazing. the difference from mod to mod is night and day. truly makes tweaking the cars such a pleasure.
good luck with the new car. i know it will live up to and surpass the VW experience for sure. although, i love my GTI!!!!

Welcome, Johnny!! There are some awesome-looking mods you could do, but also remember early Cooper styling is pretty special in it's own right. Either way, have fun!!!

WOW....thanks for the welcome ya'll...that's one thing I noticed shortly after I got the car...people in Mini's actually wave to each other...unlike some other car people...everyone is soo friendly!!!! Though I have to admit, I've been "snubbed" by a few S drivers...but it's all good!!!

Trying to not modify is really going to be difficult for me...I think my first mod will be a rear sway bar....just trying to decide if I should go 19 or 22?? I think 22 might be a bit too much here in the DC area....the other is to get my set of Recaro A8's into the car....I've got 3 ruptured disks in my lower back so seat comfort is extremely important to me...

Thanks again for the nice welcome...I hope to be meeting some of ya'll personally, especially those in the Washington DC area....still need to check into the local Mini club...

Congrats on your mini. The rear sway bar will make a huge difference .
You have officially become a miniac if you are looking into mods after 4 days , but you are in good company.
