Hi... My name is Chris & I'm a Minioholic...

Hey all,

My name is Chris and I am one of those f#@k!ng newbies as you all can tell... So I am sorry in advance for any ignorance on my part and I welcome and appreciate any & all advice given...

Although I dont actually own a mini as of yet, I am currently in the market for one after test driving a 2012 JCW while out looking for a 350z. Since then I have changed my mind... Ha Ha! I have been hooked ever since and I have been creeping on the forum trying to soak up as much knowledge as I can. I look forward to chatting with you all and I hope you all are having an awesome day!

Actually I am debating between getting a S or a JCW, Depending on the price and the condition of the car. Either way I plan on modding out whichever one I go with... Ha Ha!

Welcome to NAM, Chris! Good luck for the search of your JCW and if you have any questions about any prospects be sure to post them up here for us to help you review it. I do highly recommend you find a MINI specialist shop in your area to do a PPI (pre-purchase inspection) on it before you close the deal. They will know what problem areas to look out for and what may or may not need attention before you purchase it. And if you ever need anything when you pick it up please don't hesitate to let me know.

Go JCW!! You won't regret it. I moved from an S to a JCW and love love love everything about it. It was an 08 to a 13 though, so there's all the additional features that came with the LCI too...drive an S and see if that's enough power. The 08 had 172hp and the 13 JCW has 208 so those 36 ponies make a significant difference according to the butt dyno.

New MINI

Welcome to NAM, Chris! If you can, take some test drives so you can get a feel for the ride and performance of different years and models. The R53 is sportier and probably closes to the orginal Mini Coopers, but later models, especially 2011 and later, may suit you better in comfort and performance.

We've been working with the brand for over 40 years on the street and track, so don't hesitate to ask any questions! The one listed in San Mateo looks very promising! Be sure to visit the "for sale" section on our website.

Drive Hard. Drive Safe. Keep Grinning.
