New to me 2003 mini 5 speed

I'm another Jeep guy. Saw this red mini with the white top and had to have it.
Has 80k miles.
I've had it for a week now.

Changed oil 0-40 and Mann filter, saw the video on the vacuum pump, tried mine then pulled the drain plug- literally nothing came out of the sump.
Mann Air Filter
Mann cabin filter
Coolant flush w Zerex G-05 and distilled
Gear box- just under 2 qts of the MTL
New Wires and Plugs
Cleaned the PVC w Brake cleaner
1 can seafoam in fuel tank
Rotated tires- now have slight vibration- need to have balanced
Washed, clayed, polished and sealed the exterior
303 on the interior

Next up, new headlights and tires in the fall. Also looking at the center armrest.

I absolutely love this car, it's so much fun to drive

Yachtman,
I can relate as I just purchased my first Mini in May, a '04 Hatchback that is silver with the 5 spoke aluminum wheels. I love how it corners and how you can zip around in traffic. The acceleration is amazing for no fuel injection or turbo. It is fun to drive. I am in Wabash, Indiana. acorns1oakes

Hi acorns1oakes,
Actually they are fuel injected. I guessed you meant not supercharged or turbo.
I have a couple of base models and they are truly zippy and get 40mpg (5 speed manual)

Just drove 750 mile round trip to visit a customer in Davenport. Albeit not in the same day.

Ran super well, averaged 30.1 mpg, perhaps because of the 16" tires?

The rain sensing wiper were a nice treat.

No real cup holders. Found myself reaching for the one in the back or using my shoe on the paassenger floor board.

6 hours was about it, was starting to ache in the back a bit.

Welcome to NAM! You selected a beautiful car, and should have many years of miles and grins ahead of you!

Recently picked up an '04 MCs and just love it. Please let us know if you have any questions or need help in any way.

In the meantime, here's a handy service and maintenance guide:

Welcome abroad, nice to see the white wheel , those are pretty rare to find anymore. Use a little wheel wax and clean them with sonax wheel cleaner and you should be fine. I had white wheels on my R52 and you just have to stay on top of them.

Welcome to NAM! I just rejoined the Mini family when I picked up my 08 MCS on Wednesday. Good to see someone so close by! I'm in Pocahontas!
