What is the MINI Fuel Tank capacity in US gallons? I haven't seeen this posted elsewhere.

What is the actual Motoring range of the Cooper S on a full tank of gas? (Assume Interstate speeds and conditions)

 

According to the owners manual the fuel capcity is 13.2 gallons with a 2.1 gallon reserve. I forgot to check the computer for the estimated range when I filled the tank in my Cooper.

 

I get about 34 mpg on the highway, which I expect to improve after the shake-down period (I've only got 700 miles on it to date). So I'd expect 4-500 miles per tank on the highway, without dipping into the reserve. I do a lot of city driving, which only gets me 28 mpg (only! my last car got 17 mpg city!)

 

The following info. is first hand. We drove our new S cross-country after buying it. They are unavailable in our area and regular coopers are bringing $25K+.

Average fuel mileage over 3,178 mi. - 27.61mpg (I was a little surprised, but this includes doing 90 in MT for long distances and A/C 80% of the time{this shouldn't account for much})

Average range on a full tank - 253 (filling right after the light comes on)

It's says it has a 13.2 gal. tank, but I was only able to squeeze 11.1 in it at most. This was running at easy freeway speeds on the light for about 50mi..
