My name is J.R. and I just recently received a 2010 R56 S automatic as my first vehicle! I'm a motoring enthusiast and now a Mini lover.
My story started with my best friend receiving a 2010 R55 S. I never thought too much of Minis but his car changed my whole perspective on them. The uniqueness of the exterior as well as the interior and all the goodies it is equipped with had me interested after seeing the vehicle for the first time. He took me for a drive in it on a very low traffic, curvy and hilly road to show me how it rips. That just made me even more interested until he let me take it for a drive myself. It was so unlike any other car I've been in. A month or so later I wound up in one myself... lol. I think I found a gem (to me).
My R56 is pepper white on black, all black interior (including the headliner), leather seats, dual sunroofs (I saw some without these but I personally love them), chrome accents, navigation, and keyless entry. It has just over 70k miles so if you go by the increasing mile per year average, it's pretty spot on. The Mini has a clean CarFax as well. The interior of my Mini might as well be brand new and the exterior for the most part (few small chips on the front and a scratch on the rear bumper).
I ride bikes so I have also installed the Mini roof rack and bike rack. I keep the bike rack off when I'm not going to be hauling the bike but the rack stays on as it looks sweet. I should mention the difficulty of taking it off and putting it on as another reason why it stays put... lol.
This car handles how any teenager would want his/her car to handle. I'm in love. Thank you for taking the time to read my huge introduction, I'll be hanging around here a lot!

I'm sure you'll enjoy it a great deal. Nice, I lived in Tempe for a little while. Have you ever gone to the pavilions meet on Saturday nights up in Scottsdale? A few buddies and I would go there all the time. It's a pretty fun and diverse crowd.

No I have not. I have been trying to figure out where all the meets are at. The only group on NAM for Arizona was last posted in a few years back if I am remembering right. I know there is a club, Arizona MINI Owners, but I have not looked into it much as their schedule didn't show meets in particular. I'll have to go cruise over there sometime and see what I find! Thanks for the info.
