Hello from central PA

Just bought a 2012 Countryman S with 14,500 miles on it. After 4 days, the clutch went. Dealership had to send it to Allentown Mini for replacement. In the process, I ended up with a 100,000 extended warranty at the dealer's expense, and a new clutch. Pretty happy with the car otherwise. Really my only annoyance with the car is the stupid, small cup holders in front of the gearshift. The left one is in the way for reverse, the right one is in the way for 5th. I was thinking about getting the accessory rail cup holder, but there's the armrest and e-brake. Looking for a better solution. I HAVE to have my coffee when I drive.

Welcome to NAM! The cup holder thing seems to be a common complaint, mostly because people say they're too small. There is a retrofit thread on here to upgrade to the 2013 cup holders, which are bigger, but doubt that's what you want. I also found this thread here with people posting alternatives that you might find interesting. Otherwise, if you need anything else for your MINI let me know! Enjoy.

looks like I must separate the amber plastic lighter bracket from the lighter insert in order to get it into the new cupholder assembly (I was able to force it through the original console with the pieces together) Can't seem to get these two pieces apart. Anyone out there willing to pass on this knowledge. I'm kinda stuck. Thanks in advance.

Hey, ECSTuning
I love the new, larger cup holders, but I'd like to get the trim ring for the top that is notched and the rubber bottom circular pads for the cup holders. Could you give me those part #s? I'm looking on the ESCTuning site but don't see them. Thanks for your help.

I thought I read somewhere that there was a gray trim ring that had notches to match the larger cupholder notch below it. Sometimes when I pull my cup out, it grabs the gray trim ring and pulls it off. Of course I may have dreamt it. I will order the bottom inserts. Thanks
