Hello Brothers and Sisters
Hello Brothers and Sisters
Today I officially became a mini owner. I nearly pulled the trigger on a high mileage 03 Justa, but luckily for me the seller had a change of heart. I had been trying to find a private party mini due to pricing, but found a 04 S in Chili Red at a dealer. They actually came $200 below what I told them I was willing to spend. Nice!
I have been trolling the forum since I found it, and hope to use the information here to make my mini experience even better. When I first test drove the mini I noticed the steering wheel column rub noise when the the steering was turned full left or right. Also discovered a oil leak. They sorted out the oil leak and lubed the steering column. The rub is still there, however after being outside of the car while someone tried to replicate the sound, it sounded like it really was coming from the run flats on the pavement. Time will tell.
Also ran into another unexpected issue. I brought the car over for my boss to check out. He took it for a spin and we put the sun roof all the way back, then it wouldnt close. It would go an inch or so forward, then back. We managed to get it closed by me holding down the close button and him pushing/assisting it closed. Did some looking and looks like I will need to lube that area up...l hope.
Its great to be part of the fam. I am off to read more in the forums now!
