New R53 owner -St Louis
My father was 72 when he bought his first Mini, a new 2006 MCS hyper blue with most of the Dinan additions. The Mini dealership was 1 block from home and he was there almost daily the past 9 years. He loved everything about the place ... the sales people, showroom and service guys. The R53 was his fun car and he still had a jag 4-door when needed. In 2011 he decided he wanted AWD sedan, sold the jag and traded the R53 for 2011 Countryman S All4. Mini's were never on my radar, but the snap/crackle/popping Dinan R53 really grew on me and I regretted not buying it when he got the Countryman. He lost a battle with cancer last month, and left me his Countryman, but I wanted the R53. I was able to track down the R53 owner, and expressed interest in buying it back. The owner was actually thinking about buying a Countryman, we ended up swapping cars/cash, and I am the proud owner on my dads R53. This forum has been really great. I had car on Dyno yesterday, it was suggested that I change the plugs, and a quick search here showed me the way. The Stewart Warner boost/volt dim gauge lights were another fix found here. Next will be enrichment on tires and brakes.
I am really liking this car.

Welcome. That's a great story and shows how our cars are members of the family, they just sleep in the garage.
These cold heat range plugs would be the correct ones for your car.
