Snowy hello from NYC

I picked up Launch Edition 69/500 2002 R50 base mini yesterday and go in just before the storm! She's a 5 speed and shifts smoothly and is mechanically sound with less than 50K miles. I look forward to learning from this community and positively contributing to it. Now off to the classifieds to remedy the very few cosmetic flaws in order to get her back up to my standard!!

Good luck getting the little things touched up! I'm looking for some cosmetic parts for my wife's 06' Pepper White Cooper S to prep it for sale.

Cheers,
Danny

Thank you very much! I wanted an S, but I've known this specific car and I know it's mechanically sound and well maintained. I love that I don't feel any qualms about modifying this car a bit, mechanically, not cosmetically. I feel my 91 Audi Quattro is too rare and original to modify, my Porsche I have no desire to modify as I enjoy it the way it came off the line and my 73 Spitfire is a completely original 3rd owner car with only 63k miles, so it would be a shame to touch that one. This is the first car I will be changing from stock, so I will make sure to do all my due diligence and this community appears to be a wonderful resource as well as the books I've already ordered. Thanks for all the great information guys. I'm just a student, so I will be doing this on a budget, but I'd rather take my time to find barely used parts in good condition, do all the work myself and set the car up right rather than use cheap parts. This is a fun car and I'm excited to get to know it. I purchased the Audi from my father who purchased it back in 91 and I've got over 500k miles on it now, so lets see if the Mini can get up there

Look forward to getting to know you guys!

Were these built for the Canadian market and imported later?

Can't show pics until I clean her up a bit! In the middle of doing the control arm bushings. She has 50,500 miles now, great tires from a wonderful member of this community, and she will be put into good form! Thinking of several tasteful modifications. She is much fun to drive and a lovely partner to my Boxster and other cars.
