First Mini, 2009 JCW Hardtop

Hey guys,

I'm Chris, 23. I live in Las Vegas.
I've been in love with Minis since the first time I drove one about 4 years ago, and have been looking to ****** one up for a while, but either saw them going way above value, or weren't quite the condition/setup I wanted.

Two days ago, I saw a black JCW pop up at the local Mini dealership, and I took off from work early to go check it out, and I ended up buying it on the spot.

What was weird about buying it though, is all the paperwork said "2009 Mini Cooper S John Cooper Works GP", but I thought they didn't make them in 2009, only 2006 and 2013? How could this be?

Pictures attached! (It drives flawlessly!)

Thanks guys!

The Dealership here is being great to me. There was a crack in the real taillight that I missed when I bought the car (it was dark out when I check it out) and they're actually replacing it for me. I also received a great deal (in my opinion) on my trade and the base price of the Mini.

It's a rough ride on some Vegas roads, and speed bumps still terrify me because of the diffuser, but at speed, it's the most fun car I've ever driven.

Anyone know what the body kit is? I haven't seen another JCW with the front diffuser/lip. Just trying to understand what mods were done to it before I bought it.

It has a MINI Cooper Challenge Front Splitter... (I need to look for some of them... sweet!)

Does it have the rear defuser on it?

Very nice R56 JCW...

Motor on!

Welcome to NAM, covt and congrats on a great looking JCW. Black paint is a lot of work. Trust me, I know. Happy motoring and please don't forget to wave.

Definitely after market. There's buttons for seat warmers that obviously don't work with Recaro seats.

And luckily it's getting to winter time here, so much less dust! Should be easier to keep her clean for the next few months.

Turns out, I was wrong and the Recaro seats are stock.

The seat warmers work, so, 100% stock across the board...

Now I want to know the story of the front bumper.

The seats are "kind of" stock just like that splitter. The Recaro seats for a while you could only get in Europe. So those seats must have been ordered from somewhere and installed in the car. They are OEM mini seats so everything should have bolted right up. But they were super expensive and I don't know many people who have put them in their cars. But your car definitely didn't come with those seats when it was purchased new at the dealer.

The splitter is the same thing. It's a thing you could get from Mini but it didn't come from the factory like that. You have the stock JCW front bumper.

Wow some very nice Euro only parts: Nice find.

First Mini, 2009 JCW Hardtop-0jjz4dc.jpg

Euro JCW Recaros here, you have the alcantara Version

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...-question.html

The JCW steering wheel to match, its a US Part. Leather / alcantara and thicker then the stock steering wheel. 32300416251

Plus you have the front Euro MINI Challenge lower lip on the bumper Fitss JCW Aero I and Aero II front bumpers. Looks like Aero II because of the included brake ducts.

Looks like you found a gem and they put some money into it from what it would have came stock with. I bet they add the "2009 Mini Cooper S John Cooper Works GP" on the ad like its emulating a GP2 I guess? Anyway great add ons.

don't think a 2009 challenge splitter will fit if this is what your car is built like. ( well ,,it might but I doubt it, it depends on where the all the slots are located, if the upper main body is the same)

The challenges splitters I beleive fits Aero I ( and might fit Aero II bumpers) , thats the bumper it looks to have with the brake ducts. I know the 3/2012 + Aero bumper has diffrent slots .

Thanks and we have them listed.

I need you to send me those seats immediately. I'll even pay shipping. I think we've only had one car with those come through the shop. They feel as good as they look.
