New new Guy here.

Hello.

New owner of nused 2012 hardtop S with 6,000 mi on it. Came with exactly what I would have ordered but each item seems ala carte.

It makes me smile everyday!

41.2 mpg both ways an hour and a half drive 70mph and some lights.

I tell folks do not test drive one unless you're prepared to buy one.

Thanks all
Minitonka

Welcome to the NAMily Minitonka and grats on your MCS!

Glad to hear you love your MINI... so now that you're NAMily why not share that love with your fellow MINIacs and post-up some pics, cause we love pics... yes we do!

Nice to see another satisfied, smiling owner, but then again smiling becomes and automatic response when driving a MINI... you have now taken a big step into the greater world of happiness courtesy of your MINI!

May you and your MINI share many miles and smiles together and don't forget to wave!

Motor On!

How are you getting over 40 mpg out of an "S" ? You must never be getting into the turbo. Drive that beast !!

Familiar tweaks

I took off the rear headrest stops. I surely will raise them if I have rear seat passengers. With them fully down not only is visibility enhanced but you can drop the seat backs from behind the car without any issues.

I almost returned the car because I began to feel claustrophobic and was experiencing back & neck issues. You all know about the headrests. I found that folks have issues with Fords & VWs too. Those headrests project too far forward for actual healthy spine alignment. One wise man flipped his Minis around. Well a big AHHHH. My spine and neck are aligned in the event of that impact as well as on a daily basis.

Love this car.

Yeah, I do not like the forward position of those front headrests. I like my seat more upright than most people and when I put the seat back the way I prefer it, the headrest makes it impossible to have my head and neck in a comfortable position. So I had to put the seat back a notch. It was my only complaint at all about the R56 so far (three weeks into ownership).

Backward headrest works great ! Doesn't even look odd.

I love having a British car,
that's slightly German.
It does put a smile on my face everyday.
Do you ever consider how fiscally irresponsible it would be to own multiple color combinations?
That would require multiple cars.
