"Those waiting for a 2013" Support Group
I wonder if I'm on the same truck. Lol
Funny - Buy a car - join a support group.
I've wanted a Mini Cooper S since they came to the US back in 2002 and FINALLY I've aligned the planets to allow me to both afford one and get exactly what I wanted. I just ordered a 2013 JCW last Friday (12/14/2012) and I am shocked at just how much I am exploding with excitement. I just can't imagine waiting another 4 to 6 weeks or longer...(I figured waiting 10 yrs to order my first MINI gave me enough to justify the JCW).
My wife doesn't get it so there is a good chance she might kill me before my black beauty arrives. I am beyond impressed by how calm and patient almost everyone on here seems. (I think everyone is dying to have their babies home ASAP.)
Just have one question? How long before your MA gave you the info so you could track your order? I figure I will give him a week but after that I will have to call and ask him.
Glad to be aboard.

I got my production number about 3 days after ordering.

Always positive.
Yeah I've been told that I should expect at least 6 to 8 weeks or more for a JCW but I am always positive and figure if I keep thinking earlier it might just happen. (My life usually works that way and if I can imagine it, it usually happens). As for where I am, I am in Jacksonville, FL (Northeast Florida) so once it is built and shipped the Brunswick GA location is REALLY close to me.
I've enjoyed reading almost 1/4 of the posts in this thread so far and it is funny as I can relate to the few that have never been excited about any car they have owned or driven yet they all seem extremely excited about their Mini before and after the mini's arrival. I can SO relate as I test drove the MCS and the JCW and I noticed the difference right away and loved them both but had to have the JCW even with the knowledge of the major price difference. Figure you only live once and to own at least one car that you absolutely love to drive is going to be beyond worth it.

Be happy.
Take your time researching what you want, sit down with your MA and order it, wait a wee bit and you'll get an ecstastic happy union of you and your very own personalized MINI. Although not normal, it is satisfying...
until you're ready for the next one

Keal,
Got to tell you I love the Bumper Sticker! I'm not as into Robots as your lady is but that is one awesome sticker for that awesome looking Mini. I must eventually find the right tag or sticker that is modest but unique to me to compliment my future Mini as much as yours does for your Mini.

Beautiful! Don't forget to add your name to the NAM Coupe registry thread and join the Coupe Owners Page on Facebook! See you around!
This wait is killing me!
Any wait is too long for me, I'm feeling anxious, desperate and have mixed feelings about my new 2013 MCS.
I bought a new one at the beginning of this month after I lost MINIWilly (the name of my previous MCS 2012) to hurricane Sandy. It drowned in the waters of the Atlantic Ocean that horrible night when the high tide destroyed everything it found on its way in Downtown Jersey City.
I was excited about my new acquisition on the day that I went to the dealership, but since then, and since I still cannot touch it and hug it, I feel like I don't want it anymore. Let's see if that changes in the next couple of days. It's coming in the Queen Sapphire, and the last ETA is for 12/24.
I don't have a car at the time being, so no way to go to the port and wait for it and see how it's unloaded (haha, that would be a little too crazy
).
Please help!

William, our cars are on the same boat. It will be worth the wait. I'm not sure I understand why you wouldn't want it anymore. I'm replacing my 2004 MCS that I sold earlier this year and I can't wait until the new car arrives. I'm driving a 2000 M Roadster (summer car) until it gets here and today's icy roads were not fun in that car.

It's just that I want it now

My life is not the same without my MINI.
Got a call from my MA, my MINI is at the dealership! They will put on the clear bra and stripes for me and I will likely pic up Thursday. I can hardly wait. What's the word with the rest of my Chesapeake Highway brethren? Has your MINIs made it to the dealer yet?
- The MINI community and enthusiasm around the car is phenomenal. Just look at this thread to see what I mean.
- They are attention-grabbing cars. More than anything else in their class (WRX, GTI, Focus ST, etc.)
- The Focus ST and Fiat 500 both seemed cheaply made inside the car.
- They offer the best sporty FWD driving experience I've ever known.
- No Audi dealers had a TT for me to test drive, even after I had multiple visits to dealerships.
- The GTI/Golf R is a pretty mundane, drab looking car to me.
- The WRX is not distinctive enough to me.
- Almost everything else I looked at was either too expensive, too big or too plain looking.
- My first MINI was a great experience from start to finish.
- They get much better milage than my last one did
- MINI Connected with navigation is one of the coolest in-dash infotainment centers I've ever seen.

Gorgeous.
