loss of full power

a week or two the small yellow engine light came on (on the speedometer) for a couple of days. I continued driving and it went out. then the larger half yellow light flashed a few times (on the tac) and a lot of power was lost upon acceleration. Did the turbo go out? I have a 2010s cooper with 57,000 miles. Rickmey

Did you check you engine? I had a similar problem, upon hard acceleration the car didn't really have pick up, it felt like there was no turbo, just a 4 cylinder. upon inspection the intake hose from the turbo was some how undone, so I popped it back on and boom problem fix the light even reset itself after a day or two.

What code are you getting? It could be as simple as a failing MAF sensor.

In case you weren't aware, it's considered bad forum etiquette to post a question before making an introduction. Go ahead and start an intro thread telling us a bit about yourself, and how you came to be a MINI owner. Next, get your car scanned, or buy a generic OBDII scanner, and do it yourself. If you are going to work on the car, you need tools, and a scanner is mandatory these days. Come back to us with the codes, and then we might have some insight. With so many possibilities, it's practically impossible to diagnose this without all the information.

I agree with getting the code, if it lights up, the car is picking up the possible problem so make use of that.

Usually a local Autozone has a code reader, just ask them to use it on your car to see what code it is throwing.

Without that, there could be several possible problems.

I have an '09 S and it suddenly lost power as you described. It was the high pressure fuel pump. Mini payed for the replacement.

I don't know if this is your problem as I would think Mini would have the fix already in for the '10's. But...
