Really though, he said that none of the Countryman's have left yet, so apparently I'm in good company. I'm really not worried (yet). I also asked him about the trucks, and no, he said they they all ship together! He said he's asked to put a rush on it and doesn't know what the hold up is.

 

Just heard from MA Brian that my Mini should be there tomorrow. If it left NJ at 9 last night I don't know where it has been all day... must stop at other dealerships?

 

That makes no sense at all. Kevin said that the Elektra had "dozens" of cars on it bound for Mini. Add in all the cars that probably are headed to the BMW dealer next door, there's no reason that they'd load trucks up with car bound for anywhere other than Peabody.

Did he definitely say it left last night or was it just supposed to? Cos mine was spposed to leave last night too. :(

 

I'm surprised they have said anything. Maybe he said it knowing he wouldn't have to listen to you guys today.

It seems like theyve got quite a large delivery. When I went to the dealership last month, their stock was quite depleted. I would imagine this is their first shipment of 2012s to this dealership.

Gonna take a ride over to the dealer in the morning to see if any cars are on the lot. Janus, my dealer had very little inventory as of a few weeks ago as well so if I see a whole batch of new minis mine might be there.

 

Lauren, when you get your new 2012 Countryman, you will have to let us know if they corrected the belt line chrome trim problem between the windows and the doors.

All of the 2011's were afflicted with peeling chrome tape off of the belt line trim. Supposedly the new trim is now available but it was uncertain if the first batch of 2012s received the new or defective trim.

Supposedly the new trim is an all aluminum piece instead of chrome tape on plastic.

 

I certainly hope that they fixed it! I will definitely let you know when I bring her home...

 

Checked OL and dealer ETA updated from 9/16 to 9/15. Stopped by the dealer just now and drove through the lot but no new Mini's. Perhaps the truck will arrive today and I can take delivery tomorrow!

 

Interesting, they pushed you back a day? I was just informed that my Mini still hasnt left NJ. Theyre not sure what the hold up is.

Edit - just checked OL and mine says 15th also. Curious....

 

Kevin sent me an email a few minutes ago indicating that Ladybug hasn't left NJ yet either. He also said that there's no indicated reason or problem but there's a limited number of trucks and A LOT of little cars so it's just a waiting game.

Update: OL still shows dealer delivery date of yesterday!

 

AAAhhhg! You guys are harshing my mellow! What is going on? (Deep breath...) Ok, I'm just going to wait until I hear something from them, or from one of you, or I go crazy, and then take it from there. Maybe we could take a bus to NJ? Anybody?

Dont worry guys. The Ramsey dealership is Still* saying Tuesday the 20th for us, I'm assuming our dealership expected the delay and thats why they said it wouldnt be until next week that the minis would ship
(remember the NJ dealership is about an hour from the VDC)

My girlfriends mini was released from the VDC late on the 13th or early on the 14th.

Im assuming they want to ship ALL the MINIs together and it seams like this is the first major 2012 shipment for the New England area because the Ramsey dealership was also rather low on 2011 stock when she ordered hers.

 

If its the same trucking company that will end up moving all of them to the NE area, they could be waiting for empty trucks to come back, gather them all together, then have one huge convoy empty the place.

Interesting to see NJ say the 20th, and theyre only an hr away. Ah well, nothing we can do.

Also depending on where the empty trucks are coming from, the assigned drivers may have to wait to make the drive (the are only allowed to drive/be on shift so many hours before they HAVE to take a break)

 

I was just thinknig, this sort of feels like a cruel joke, haha.

 

Lol, I thought that also for you guys further north. What if they just got everyone's hopes up to get your MINI this week when in reality it wont come till next...that would be a cruel cruel joke

 

Plus, I am too far from my dealership to get there after work. If I don't get my car by Monday, I'll have to wait until the NEXT weekend. Still hoping for good news....

OK, folks--just got and email from my MA saying my Mini IS AT THE DEALERSHIP and "almost" ready for pick-up! Looks as though I'm on for Saturday. Mine CAN'T be the only one delivered--anybody else got news?

 

Should I have made a new post for that?

 

Nothing yet. Though I'm sure we'll hear something soon as they come in. Thats great news!

 

Hey, that's great!! I'm so glad to hear that! I haven't heard anything new so I'm still waiting for updated news...I believe that Kevin usually hears when they leave NJ, so I can only assume that mine is still there.

 

(sigh) I'm gonna feel bad if I'm the only one getting my Mini...
