oh Lauren, hang on! You are going to be delirious! Today is my day off, and I have been looking for errands to do, just so I have an excuse to go drive around! and everytime I do something and walk back to my car, I get this little thrill when I see it, "(gasp) That's MY car!" I love it more than I expected to, and the color is jewel-like. It looks great with my house!

 

I'm SO excited...Kevin sent me a photo of her a few minutes ago! (Now let's see if I can attach it...)

I really can't wait to go driving with her!

My girl picked up hers a few minutes ago!! Shes totally stoked about it, but still getting warming up to the shifter, the gears seam closer together then her previous 2001 Beetle. Nothing a few hours driving around wont fix tho!!

Picked up Minerva yesterday! Couldnt be happier, pics will be upcoming. PS Lauren, I saw Lady at the dealership, lots of people checkin her out!

There is one small issue though, the sport button light is always on regardless of whether its in sport mode or not. Sport mode engages fine, but I think maybe a wire got crossed somewhere. I called the dealer and theyre going to look into it, and call me back.

I swear, I have NEVER had a car like this, that WANTS to go fast! The speed limit on my street is 25, and I'm very strict about it; but the car is like "What? Why are we going so slow? Come ON, let's GO!" It's great!

Janus - you SAW HER!?!??! OMG...that's awesome!

MiniMidd - Yes! Today is the day! I'm leaving around 3pm to head down to Peabody and hopefully beat some traffic. I am so insanely excited! I just wish this weather were a little better, but that's okay...Lady will be mine in a few short hours!

 

Make sure you practice the wipers before you leave the dealer. I'm STILL figuring mine out. Can't wait to hear from you once you get Ladybug home!

As a side note, I brought my camera so I can take photos of her before she leaves...and if anything else strikes my fancy and I need photos.

 

minilauren, I think you should leave now and get a headstart Take plenty of pics now bc when you drive the next few days you wont have time to! Plus she's all detailed up now, who knows when you'll have time to wash when you'll be in the drivers seat!

miniidd, I totally know what you mean, I'm driving way too fast but the turbo just wants to blast you off..

 

Lauren ask your dealer if the chrome trim on your 2012 is different from the chrome trim on the 2011's. Because almost every 2011 Countryman made after March 2011 has the chrome peeling off the beltline trim.

It would be good to know if Mini fixed the issue on the 2012s.

 

 

Actually, she's going in to the detailer's on Saturday to get a nice bath, a nice coat of sealant and wax and some leather treatment. He charges me almost nothing compared to what the dealer charges for some of their "upgrades."

Janus - Minerva is beautiful! I can't wait to send out photos and show everyone my new baby.

Lauren, janus, nddst--your cars are GORGEOUS! I hope you are having as much fun as I am. Took my husband for his first ride last night, as he's been away on business. Had the whole family; husband shotgun, son and dog in back. So fun! My husband said "This is a SPORTS car!" OH yeah...
