I havent heard of any delays from my dealer in Mass, he just said that it would either be a couple days later or earlier than the tentative delivery date of the 16th.

It does make sense that cars loaded on first will be last to get off the boat, assuming there are tons of cars to be unloaded, this could explain some of the delay. Minilauren's delivery date is earlier than me, and we are with the same dealer. My guess is that her Mini was loaded on close to last, and was unloaded close to first, and she was able to get moving sooner than the rest of us.

Actually, I believe I was loaded first. I was loaded in Bremerhaven Germany, whereas yours were loaded in Southampton (I think). So...who knows? Maybe they process them in batches, like all Hardtops or all Countryman together. It also could have to do with priority. I don't know when you guys ordered yours, but I ordered mine in June, so I've been waiting for AGES...so maybe there is some priority queuing going on...

I just got an update from Kevin and my car is in "Released to Carrier" mode. That means that it's ready to be picked up at the VDC to be transported up here! Kevin is going to send me another email when it's loaded and/or left NJ...

So, based on estimates, we believe that Lady will be on a truck out of NJ tomorrow afternoon, arriving in Peabody on Wednesday. It could happen sooner, it could happen later, but best guess is that. Kevin also said that there are "dozens" of cars on the Elektra bound for Peabody and that at this point, he's only seen "a couple" that are released to carrier so far. Hopefully he'll get updates for you guys and you'll be on the same truck as Lady!

I'm curious to know once the dealer has the car how long that process will take to register, inspect, insure, etc...I wouldnt expect more than a day, but I'll be keeping an eye out

I can't imagine it takes long. I asked Kevin if I could pick up Ladybug on Friday night and he said he thinks so as long as it arrives on Wednesday as currently scheduled. Here is his latest:

"All models come together on the same truck. It just seems like the first ones that are ready are the first to arrive.

I don’t believe they paint certain colors at certain times in batches based on my experience, but I could be wrong. Ken’s was built slightly before yours I believe, but it didn’t get to Bremerhaven as quickly as yours. Perhaps yours was on the speed train. I believe you have the first 2012 Ctm that is released to carrier for us. There were some delays in releasing the first 2012 hardtops/Clubmans due to EPA and Monroney sticker issues, but there are none with the Countrymans or yours wouldn’t have been released."

There are already 2012s out there, right? I'm sure either they have needed to make small modifications at the VPC, or they make the changes during manufacturing to address the issue.

Waaugh! I can't get mine until Saturday! IF it is there then. I just emailed Kevin AND Brian asking for status update. But I gotta work all week, including Sat. AM, AND my husband is out of town so I had to arrange for someone else to drive me over there. NP, my sister is happy to help out and share the excitement. As SOON as you all get yours, hop out of the Mini long enough to just post how you are liking it, initial impressions, etc. I'll enjoy it vicariously!

Yep, me too! Here's Kevin's reply:

Your car is released to carrier, but hasn’t left NJ yet. It is scheduled to be here as soon as tomorrow. The CO should arrive on Thursday if all goes well.

Yippee! Even if I do have to wait until Saturday, I'll be happy just knowing it's there.

The Elektra has completed its voyage and is on its way back to Germany! I just tracked my VIN and saw 2 new entrees 9/9 and 9/12. Seems like this means it unloaded on the 9th and went into the VDC on the 12th. According to my MA, dealer delivery is 9/15 but could be earlier..

So Friday pickup is looking more and more iffy...Lady was scheduled to leave yesterday and arrive today, but she has not yet arrived! My MA AND Sales Mgr are both uncertain about arrival day and time, so we'll see...apparently none of the Countryman's have left NJ yet for Peabody.

*sigh* This is the worst part!

Have you guys heard anything?

In the screen shot Kevin sent me, it said "Ship from VPC" in the upper right, for 9/15 and "Dealer Delivery" on 9/15. That's all I know. He did say it was released to carrier, so basically were just waiting on the truckers.

lol I was waiting to hear from YOU! Now I'm worried, too. I wonder if it's only the Countrymans (Countrymen?) that are delayed. Kevin's last message to me said they'd be in touch, which I interpreted as "Don't call us, we'll call you...". But his last message also said my car would probably be there today... I think I'm entitled to a message a day. I'll email him and let you know. Hang in there!

OK, I'm back--There was a message waiting for me from Kevin saying my car left NJ at 9 last night and should be there today, but he's not at the dealership today. Still expecting the CO for tomorrow. Sounds as though I'm still on schedule. Lauren, what the heck? What's the hold-up? Do Countrymans go on a bigger truck, or (cue the ominous music...) is there something they're not telling you? Hope you get some answers soon!

Just a reminder...or piece of info if you didn't already know. Kevin has Wednesday's off, so you likely won't hear from him until tomorrow.

I know that my MA told me that it still lists my car as both departing NJ today and arriving Mass today...so who knows!
