Elektra's Progress...
Lauren, my MA is Brian Twomy. I will say that the woman in the Business Office, Kim, is VERY quick to respond. Her error on my purchase price was because Brian never updated my forms once we closed the deal. I'm just not feelin' the love.
But soon we will have our cars, and we'll be HAPPY!
Did you happen to ask your contact (Kevin?) if you could pick your car up at MiniBedford?

Yes! According to my ruler my mini is only 6½ inches away from me

Funny...Brian is my MA too...at least I'm not the only one not feelin the love from him. Like I said though, Kevin is fantastic with getting me info and he's never once made me feel like my daily emails are annoying!
I have to admit when I first ordered the car, I asked about having delivery in Bedford, but apparently it would still be delivered in Peabody and someone would have to drive it to Bedford. Personally, I'd rather take delivery in Peabody myself and drive it back home. I'm trusting my baby to no one! :-D

Hi everyone my girlfriend's Mini is also on the Elektra. I was wondering where you guys are finding the updates on the ships location, i'v searched and surfed the web and can not find anything that updates as quickly as the post on here, the last known location that i can find is a few hours after Elektra left Halifax, no where near Nantucket
I use marinetraffic.com and enter the ship name in the "Go To Vessel" box. I think the boat only shows up if it has had radio contact with someone onshore so it is usually out of range. As of right now the last known position was SE of Nantucket as minilauren mentioned above.
minimidd77 also provided the Elektra marinetraffic.com page which lists more info
there's also sailwx.info but it doesnt seem up to date

Thanks for the info, iv used both sites before never been able to find it on marinetraffic, thanks for the direct link to the ship

and your right sailwx doesnt update as often as it should(at least for the Elektra), iv tracked other ships with it and they would be "in range" most of the way across the Atlantic.
She's headed on a northwesterly course which will take her right into Port of New York! Hooray!
And I've just been using marinetraffic.com with a search of Elektra...it auto-updates, especially now that she's so close to NY.

Thanks, you guys! Those are great links. We can just about watch her pull up to the dock! Now everyone keep fingers crossed that nobody suffered any damage on the trip over. I think we're gonna get our Minis next week!
ok, (/me taps fingers on table), the ship's in... Now what do we do? How about the first person who has communication with their dealership re delivery date posts here? (Like you wouldn't, anyway... lol)
Info might be delayed but I'm still tracking my VIN via the WWL cargo tracker. As of now its "still" on the ship but if they finished unloading they should have gone right to the VDC 5 min away.
I emailed Kevin about 15 seconds after I saw her docked and got the following response. I initially asked him about what time frame he expected for our cars to come in. I mentioned that there is a crew of us who are anxiously awaiting our cars from the Elektra. He was very nice and said any one of us can email him if we want more info. Here's his exact response:
"Hi Lauren,
No, not surprised at all! Our computers don’t show the boat as docked yet actually. We generically tell customers one week from port arrival to delivery here at the dealership. Sometimes it is 4 days; sometimes it is 8 or 9. We won’t know the projected date of dealer delivery until the car is unloaded (there are thousands on the boat) and processed. I expect that we will have a date within a day or two. We will know when it is released to the carrier and then when it leaves NJ. It will usually leave in the afternoon or evening and arrive here the next morning. I will keep you updated when these things happen. Also, the certificate of origin (needed for registering the car) won’t arrive until the business day after the car arrives. Honestly the motoring advisors all say something different, but I think a week is a good bet. If any of the other Elektra folk online need any info have them contact me or their MA’s.
Thanks and talk soon!
-Kevin"
I'll continue emailing him on a daily basis and of course will share the info that I get with everyone! :-D

Great update, lauren, thanks! (I knew we could count on you!) Maybe I'll contact Kevin myself. Pick-up next weekend would be wonderful; hope you can make your appointments, mrk5n.
kat1689, our minis are on their way. What have you got, and where are you? Good to know we're being welcomed in to the club. Thanks!

I would love to pick her up on Friday so that I can have her for the weekend! Here's to hoping...also, if you do want to email Kevin, his email address is: kbarkhouse@minipeabody.com.
As a side note, I already sent him my daily email asking him for a status update and will of course share whatever info I get from him with everyone.
