I just got the following reply from Kevin! I would suggest that you each contact him for your specific delivery date just in case they separate us onto different deliveries!

"Hi Lauren! As of a few minutes ago it just updated with an estimated dealer delivery of the 15th, next Thursday. Not everyone on the boat will have the same dealer delivery date, but there should be a bunch together on the truck coming up here. We won’t know FOR SURE until the car leaves NJ regardless of when it is released to the trucker. They can sit for days after being released. We’ll be in touch! Thanks again!"

 

Oh man, wouldn't next weekend be great!? Hey Janus, if you're in western MA, you've got some bea-u-ti-ful drives out there...why don't you find (or even organize!) a meet for us in your area? If there's not something already, there should be... (This is me, waving.)

 

Sign me up! It would be fun to get everyone together...our cars were all practically born together! :-D

As a side note, Kevin sent me a screen shot with some additional info that is useful. It includes Arrival at VDC (estimated 9/9, actual 9/9), Process confirmed (estimated 9/12), ship from VDC (estimated 9/14), Dealer Delivery (estimated 9/15).

 

I will once I have a chance to get some roads together, I want to plan a route and everything. One of the most fun drives Ive had was actually in CT, RT 6 drive from Hartford to Providence, all long twistys with decent speed limits. Another notable drive is Rt 8 from Albany NY to Waterbury CT. I dont actually know western mass that well, but Ill start looking. If you have an Iphone, be sure to download the Mini Link app, its a good way to look for roads that Mini'ers have picked out and to meet other people in the area.

 

Kevin emailed me back, no delivery date yet, but he said it would be very similar time frame, its listed as "In transit to VPC".

Edit - Now shows estimated delivery of the 16th, woo! He said it could be earlier or later, but thats their estimate.

 

That's interesting. It sounds like Ladybug got off the ship first! Either way, this is great.

 

Kevin is THE BOMB! He got back to me before I finished typing my next email! I got the same report as Lauren, probable delivery on the 15th, ready on the 16th. As things stand now, I'm going to tentatively plan for pick-up on Sat. the 17th, probably in the afternoon. Spoke w/ my insurance agent this morning, and emailed my MA to make sure all the paperwork is getting done at his end. I don't want any delays. My heart is racing like a Mini engine! (maybe I shouldn't have had that 2nd Red Bull...)

 

I'm not too worried, I'd like to pick it up for that weekend also, so if they say 16th for me to pick it up, Ill guess that theyll have all of the paperwork taken care of for that date, if thats what were looking at.

Hey, My MINI is on the Elektra too!!!

It's in port and I'm waiting for the "Track Your MINI" info in the MINI Lounge to update to "at distribution center". The Elektra arrived yesterday morning and it still hasn't departed so I'm thinking maybe the docks are backed up? I'll be relieved when I know my MiniHaHa is safe and indoors at the VDC. From there it's just a 40 minute ride to my dealer in Ramsey, NJ and then home to me, FINALLY!!

 

Uh oh, none of those look red with a white top. Hope I was not bamboozled!

 

i doubt thats all the Minis that came off the ship, if you look closer to the dock there is one that looks like its on its way over to the line, unless its on "isolation island" for misbehaving on the boat =P
so chances are there was still a few newborns on the boat when the picture was taken

 

MiniHaHa--The Owner's lounge is the least up-to-date source. Call the 800 number with your product number, or call your dealership for the most accurate status. Your in NJ, right? Should be comin soon!

Thanks, minimidd! I'll call my dealer to see if she can give me a better idea. I did notice the Elektra had set sail already right after I posted. Yes, I am in NJ so I'm hoping for late next week to take delivery. I can't wait....This is my first MINI!

That one of the live cams online in NJ looking out to NYC, the port that Elektra stopped at is really on the NJ side of the harbor (opposite way that the cam is pointing) but you can see when ships leave and come because thats pretty much a choke point of that portion of the harbor.

I believe both are from today, but Im uncertain when exactly when the satellite view was taken as theres no time stamps with it, but i doubt that the satellite view will update again for a while anyways and our minis will be inside or the way to us anyways

The one of the boat from the live cam was today at approximately 5:10 or so NJ time. right before I posted

 

my girlfriend decided to email her mini representative to get an estimated delivery date and see when she could go pick up her new mini

The reply back said that the shipment of minis would NOT reach Ramsey (less then an hour away from the VDC) until Monday the 19th and they would began the process of being prepped for sale/delivery and hers would be ready for pickup on the 20th.

Which made me scratch my head and think "The MA dealership is possibly getting there shipment 3 or 4 days before the dealership right down the road?"

So I began thinking some more...

The ship was delayed in port a whole day...this could be due to the amount of cars that needed to be unloaded or the weather..but something tells me its unlikely the case. I think security may have been heightened like we've seen before because of the 9/11 anniversary.

She also mentioned that the NJ VDC is closed on the weekend, which may delay the shipment being turned over to the truckers. If our mini and the other Ramsey minis were near the end of the line I could see this being a potential delay but I hope the processing is quick anyways.

But over all I think that her representative is playing it safe and only giving out the latest possible date that her Mini will be ready.

Any thoughts? Anyone from MA get notify of a delay?



@MiniHaHa Have you heard anything else from the Ramsey dealership? Maybe an updated delivery date or something?

 

Hi Sundancer, I just heard back from my sales advisor and she told me the same thing, they won't get them until the 19th. She said it usually takes them a week at the VPC, Then when mine gets to Ramsey they have to put the racing stripes on so she said to allow another day or two for that (depending on how busy service is). So with all that she said to expect to pick her up around the 22nd or 23rd. Just my luck, I'll be leaving for vacation on the 22nd so probably won't be bringing MiniHaHa home until after I get back. So it sounds like your representative and mine are giving the same info but at least your MINI should be ready a day or two sooner.

enzo, I got the same msg from askmini but its gotta be wrong. My VIN on the WWL tracker hasn't updated since the boat left NY and OL says "En Route" but it had to have been unloaded on Friday

 

Im hoping thats wrong.I guess I will find out on monday.Just does not sound right waiting for vessel at port.

 

Sorry for the slow response, it's been a crazy week! I have a Lightning Blue 08 MCS I'm right outside of Boston, make sure you wave!! I have orange on my stripes and beltline so I'm pretty noticeable haha.

I hope you all take delivery sooner rather than later!! It's so worth the wait

 

Ask Mini automation and the owner lounge seams to not update as much as it should, if you use it, your going to want to speak to a representative that can locate your mini and give you the most up to date info.

But if it did make it on Elektra as other sources say, it should have been unloaded.

If it is in New Jersey everything Iv read on this forums says at this point if you want updated info you HAVE to contact the dealership. They are apparently the only ones (other then the VDC it self which rejects personal calls now...crazy soon-to-be mini owners bugging them ) that can get the info such as when your mini should leave the VDC when it will get to them etc.

BTW the NJ VDC is literally a few mins down the road maybe a mile or two from where the Elektra ported.

 

Since I had to spend the whole weekend WAITING (no tracking, no updates), I passed some time creating a music CD of my favorite cruising tunes that I can can slap into the CD player as I drive away from the dealer in my BRAND NEW MINI COOPER! (I know there is an iPod link in the car, but I only have a "Shuffle" and I won't want to waste a minute figuring out the system.) I want to rock as soon as I start driving! What are some of your favorite driving songs?

 

Yeah, don’t worry about that. When my vehicle was at the distribution center, the automated message was telling me the same thing. Your MA’s records should be updated though, and you might (or at least in the next couple of days), you’ll have an expected delivery date put in on the OL site. My vehicle was at the distribution center for a little less than a week and I was able to pick up my vehicle 4 days after the “expected delivery date” listed on the OL site.
