Mine was installed at the VDC before coming to the dealer. I doubt you'll find a dealer that will negotiate much on anything.
I can tell you that I believe it's possible to buy the Tuning Kit from MINI MOTORING and have the dealer install it. The benefit to that is MINI MOTORING gives a 20% discount to NAM members, just give them your NAM ID and having the dealership install it won't cause any Warranty issues. MINI MOTORING stores are located in most dealerships or at minimotoring.com if ordering from the online store call them to place the order so you get the 20%!!!

Update! I am confirmed....My MINI left Bremerhaven on the California HWY K-LINE vessel on 5/30/12 with an estimated arrival of 6/13/12 at Brunswick, GA! Anyone else on this ride??????

There's a way to enter your VIN # on the WW vessel site to see if you have been placed on one of their vessels. My # wasn't showing up, so I looked at the KLINE site which has a pdf schedule posted with vessel names and departure dates. I knew my MINI was headed to Brunswick, GA and it's been waiting at the port in Bremerhaven since the 21st, so I looked at the KLINE sched and kind of guessed. The owner's lounge finally showed that I was en route, so I called my MA and he confirmed the vessel was KLINE. I think the MAs get info before the lounge shows it...so it's best to just email or call your MA to give them a "gentle" reminder to check on your car.... I probably would have known all this a few days ago....but I slacked on bugging my MA last week.

 

I'm on the Grand Mercury, WW voyage number CA221-GME, though there is no trace of the ship on marinetraffic.com.

The WW site says it made its last stop yesterda as scheduled, in Nova Scotia...so I'm sure it's on its way. Would be cool to see the little green blip on the map though!

Just ordered my first Mini on Saturday, Countryman S All4.

I'm all signed up with the owner's lounge to track its progress, but seems like it doesn't offer as much info as you all post. I see there's also an ask-mini resource. I take it that's a number you call, speak to a rep and get more detailed info?

Mine shouldn't start production till next week, so no need to bother them just yet. But will be good to know who I can harass for the best info.

I found the ask-mini number. So I'll give it a week or so to start production, then use that for more detailed info.

Sounds nice. I am In Nj and I work a couple of miles from port. If I wasn't working I would go check it out. My dealer is in nj and they estimated pick up Saturday or Monday! Will post pics once I get it!

 

deejay, what's the status of your mini? mine is still in paint shop since 6/1. the estimated completion date is 6/7.

I'm wondering if we could catch the ship at 6/10 to NY. otherwise the next one is 14 days later.

 

I just have to say to all those waiting - I just picked up my Countryman 2 nights ago after a 10 and a half week wait, and all the details that I was sweating are now a blur! Well worth the wait! You won't remember any of this once you get in the car. Step away from the computer, it doesn't make the time go any quicker! I wish someone had given me that same advice.

 

MA says we've moved from paint shop to final assembly today...should be completed tomorrow!

 

I emailed my MA this morning to ask him what line and ship my MINI was on (ASKMINI confirmed that my MINI is at the port), and he informed me that the shipping company does not release that information to them. So either my MINI is on the K-line and he just didn't specify that, or he just doesn't want to check. I'm a little irritated. I don't need to watch every mile my MINI moves, but I would at least like to know when it leaves the UK and when it should reach the states. All he said was that he would let me know when my MINI reaches his dealership :( Any advice? Maybe just be patient?
