The nice man that I talked to said it was in production. I checked the site again the next day and it was updated to "Scheduled for Production". I called back again (IMPATIENT) and the recording said in production and scheduled to be complete 6/6/2012. Can I say EXCITED!!!! I just hope that there are no glitches that hold it up.

I have checked thru the NAM for tracking and looks like if it makes the boat June 8th, it should hit the docks in Georgia June 23rd. I can not wait for it to get here. Going from a Tahoe (will keep for family trips) to a Ice Blue convertible with Black top 6 speed with Mini Connect and Cold Weather Package, Polar Beige leather seats. It will be a blast driving it and not spending $400 a month in gas!!!

Now, I need a name for the car, Ice Blue...any suggestions?

Tammy
Congrats on your order...looks like we're "due" on the same day!

Pick up T minus 2 hours 26 minutes and counting. I just figured out, I wrote the deposit check exactly 5 weeks ago today. All of you that are waiting, it'll be here sooner than you think, but if you obsess about it, it makes it worse.

Just heard from my MA, my MINI is due in New Jersey around the 6th. So nice having a date. Even though it is 6 days away.

Well, today's almost over, so 5.

Well, the weekends always go by fast so it's more like 3 days.

Sitting at sea-tac airport wondering if my baby Hawkling has made it through the birth canal yet. Think I'll give the nurses at AskMini a call to see if Hawkling has been born yet.

I wish mine was here sooner than I thought! I was quoted 6-8 weeks, and today marks 10 weeks from the day I ordered. It has been sitting at the VDC since Wednesday night, so I should have it soon, but it will have been 10-11 weeks for me. I'm glad your timeline was more favorable (and am also a bit jealous!).

Just called Mini to check on my baby, was told it has now moved from production line to the body shop then will go to the paint shop. How long does it usually stay in the body shop and does painting just take 1 day.

Hi Tammy! I'm a Tammy too!
It took 9 days for mine to be built! It was done on May 11th. Paint is done in one day. Mine has been sitting and waiting for a ride on a ship! Still no word on it being en route yet. The transport time is what takes FoREVER!
I'm ready to see my MINI!!!!

You don't give me much hope. I thought mine was waiting for a shipping vessel for a while, since the 24th. You've really been waiting. Another member that I spoke to had his car completed the same day as mine and was on a ship two days later heading for Port Hueneme. I really don't know which port mine is headed towards so I don't know if that was the reason his left and mine didn't. Do you happen to know which port your cars destined for?

Quick pics from my pickup last night, before they drilled the holes in the front bumper for the front license plate. Nothing like realizing at the last minute that they were going to do that. Thank you to everyone, including PMKNHD, for your support. Patience may be it's own reward, but it can't be driven.

Safe to assume about 3 days for paint. Going 2 tone like you are it will have to go through 2 paint processes with baking in between.
After paint it will go through assembly, that's at least another couple of days.

Your welcome Grinch and congratulations on bringing home your new MINI, it's a beauty. You must be living in a state with mandatory front plate laws. My dealer did clear it with me first because you can get aftermarket license plate mounts that screw into the towing bracket. Trust me, I've seen them they look like crap. I would take drilled on center any day!
Enjoy your ride, motor-on!

Spoke with my MA yesterday, and I finally have a delivery day (in pencil, not in pen).

Monday, June 11th!!! =] Morning pick up, then straight over to get a clear bra.

Can't wait! Although even though I'm picking her up, I have to wait all day for the clear bra...but its better than chipped paint!

Congrats to all of you who've already taken delivery, your cars looks great!

I'm just a few days ahead of you. Here is what ASKMINI told me the past few days (I have found the automated system sufficient):
Tuesday: body shop
Wednesday: paint shop
Thursday: waiting to be released to carrier (assuming quality checks)
Today: released to carrier and awaiting transportation to port

Hope that helps!

For those tracking their MINI on ships, how soon should I be able to see if my MINI is scheduled to load on a ship? My current status is "released to carrier and awaiting transportation to the port." Will my vehicle be registered for a boat ride before it gets there, or will I not know until it gets to the port and/or on the ship? I checked the WW line today, and my VIN didn't pull up any records. But I don't want to bug my MA about it until I've given it sufficient time to show up.

I hate to say it but this can' be right.
Not that your car is being released just that so many processes were completed in 4 days.
The car isn't assembled until after it's painted.
Here is a link to a YouTube video of the MINI production process.

IF THERE IS ANYBODY HERE THAT HAS NOT WATCHED THIS VIDEO GIVE IT A LOOK YOU'LL BE GLAD YOU DID!!!

It's very interesting and the best I have found to date.

I think mine's headed to Brunswick, GA. Got this info on the Vehicle Inquiry Report for my car.

Oooooh my, the waiting is so difficult.

(I have nothing constructive to add to the conversation, but few people around me can effectively sympathize)
