hey thanx for the reply
i did read that thread probably way too many times

i understand it takes about 5 days to prep the car, 1 day to assemble, 1 day to paint, and 1 day for quality check in general.

are you saying that when they "schedule" a production date, it means that's the actual date they assemble?

i was just confused because after reading all these threads, nobody ever mentioned their car being built prior to their actual scheduled date.

definitely can't wait to see my new ride though

^ can't say that I've seen a car being completed early, but in your case great news that you have a production date! Hopefully, yours will ship right away instead of sitting in the docks for 10 days like mine has...

This might help. My production date was 4/8. Car went into "scheduled for production/In production" on 3/29. Car wasn't into actual production until 4/9 and completed on 4/12. You're car most likely won't go into production until your actual production date. They just put that fancy "schedule for production/in production" to make us feel better. Lmao.

Woo! Owner's Lounge has been updated to say that my MINI is at the VDC with an estimated delivery date of 4/21! That would be awesome. I hope the insurance check delay doesn't hold things up for me. I want to take it home ASAP!

You're welcome. Don't forget to give ASK-MINI a call every now and then. I remember I called them once it was my production week, found out right away my car was in the body shop. Next day I called it was almost finished! Shouldn't take too long to build it! Good luck!

In production with scheduled completion date of 4/27.

Wonder if it can catch the 4/30 WW vessel Texas from Southampton to Baltimore... more likely Tugela on 5/4 or another later one though.

seems like my MINI experience is full of surprises and adventures hahaha
today, i called ASK-MINI and it gave me "your vehicle is in production with expected completion date of 4/28/12"

i come home from work to call that number again (just to double check and re-live the awesome moment) , now it says "your vehicle is scheduled for production with no confirmed completion date yet"

now that's a first, never heard anyone experienced that before, i beileive, in this 115 pages worth of thread.

I tried the link using my iPhone and it ported me to an app purchase.

Here is another link to try. http://www.sailwx.info/shiptrack/shi...tml?call=MPTP3

It should link you to the Topeka's route. When I checked, the Topeka had already left Bremerhaven and was approaching Southampton at an average of 11.8 knots. That seems soooooo sloooooow!

Try it out and see if it works for you.

Do you get some little MINI gifts when you pick up your car? I saw some pictures of people holding some swag like a plush bulldog.

Yup, we just need confirmation that our MINI's are onboard, no luck yest with the Wallenius cargo tracking site; perhaps my MA will confirm that Sargent's enroute! Better be, waiting is getting old....

Ok, who's Countryman has been at the dock for at least 2 weeks. Mine has been there since April 5 and it is still not on a boat. At least not a WW boat. I am beside myself with anticipation, and frustration!

Same happened to me. Got a finish prod 4/27 message, but now when I call and give my prod # it's no production date scheduled. When I give my VIN, it just tries to kick me to a live rep, but they only work mon-fri. Guess we will have to wait until then for clarification. Hope it's not anything related to the possible Oxford strike or resin shortage.

i really really hope it isn't the case but here's some info regarding the possible strike.

does anyone know whether it has occurred? i don't want to start harassing my MA just yet.

At least BMW said they will return to the negotiation table... I think the union would have to send out a strike vote before actually striking, so we would probably hear about that first... I also hope disgruntled workers don't take it out on our cars .

that's somewhat reassuring. i'm especially worried bc i had a production completion date yesterday on ASKMINI and today it's saying something different.. . i hope it's a glitch in the system..

i did speak to an live person last night.
he said he sees production started 4/19 but nothing else shows up on his screen when the expected completion date was.
i asked him if anything is going on that may cause this kind of behavior on ask-mini (shortage of materials etc) but he said none that he can think of...
hopefully nothing happens that may cause our product to get pushed back.
