First off, Welcome!

The term floor mat is rather generic. Are your current ones the carpeted floor mats or are they the black rubber ones that some (or most) dealers throw in? If you are not satisfied with the black rubber mats, Weather-tech I think is the name is pretty good from what I've heard, but that's only if you want rubber mats.

Check out cocomats.com. Not cheap--but well worth the price.

They did give me a set of rubber mats to but iam looking for a good quality carpeted mat. The carpeted 2010 mats they gave me are thin and used.

I think if I were you I'd have to give someone an earful. They should've given you new mats. I just bought a 2011 and they gave me the option of 3 styles. I ended up with a really good carpet mat that has the Mini emblem embroidered in it.

Lloyds Mats. It's where I got mine, and they are nice! Thick plush carpeted...
Endorsed and pumped by Jay Leno....it's all he puts in his collection.

You can get them through AutoAnything:

I just bought a 2011 Clubman and when I asked about throwing in some floor mats, my MA hesitated. Ultimately, she said she found some "demo" floor mats (my car was a demo, it had 800 miles on it) and I was not unhappy.

They are the deep rubber type with the raised edges to hold water and snow. I thought they were pretty decent. Not thin at all.

MINI does have a few types of mats. Most people like the rubber as they seem the most durable. Don't forget that the floor mats are not included with the purchase of a car, many dealer do give them away, but it is not necessary or required.

Hi thanks for the help. The lloyds mats have a hole with a gromet how to they mount to the stickie pads on the floor so the mat wont slip?

That sticky thing on the floor is just a screw in like any other retaining attachment. If you lift your mat and unscrew it, you'll see what I mean (lefty-loosey).

The Lloyds mats come with retaining hooks that screw into the carpet, both left and right side mats. Kinda tricky getting them positioned exactly before screwing them in...but not hard by any stretch.

As for the hole that's left in your carpet after removing the velcro disc....you can do a couple of things. First...just leave the velcro disc in place, but I didn't like that option. Two...massage the hole a bit with your finger, and the hole will actually close up to a very small diameter, which will be covered by the mat anyway. If the hole still bugs you that it's there, tiny dab of black silicone in the hole, and it disappears forever (if you don't get crazy with the silicone).

Another vote for cocomats. They are custom made for the car.

I think so, it's why I ordered a set. I've owned them in my 4Runner, so I knew of the quality. I had originally bought a set of Cosmo mats when I took delivery of my car, but I can tell you...the Cosmos, and any other OEM MINI "carpeted" mat, are like paper thin when compared to a good quality aftermarket mat (be it these Lloyds, Cocomats, etc.)

I personally bought the center range carpeted mats, the Ultimat. Twice as thick as any OEM MINI mat, and much denser pile. $125.00 for a full set, free shipping. Theses aren't universals either, custom CAD cut, 5/16" pile height.

Here's for your car:

http://www.autoanything.com/floor-ma...&uniqueID=8201

Want even thicker and heaver? Luxe line at 1/2" pile height. And again, for your car ($199 a set):

If it'll settle your mind, I can take a picture of mine, they're just the basic black in a full anthracite interior. But I can tell you, they're thicker than OEM or Cosmos, and fit better.

If you like carpeted mats, you won't be disappointed.

Does anyone have photos of those "pinstriped" mats in their R56? I cannot find a photo with the mats in place.
Otherwise, I'm going for the coco mats.

Thanks!

sequence, i know its wierd to have it say "turbo" but like i mentioned, it was left over from my subaru. it is a VDO gauge and functions. later on I will replace it with a prosport probably but it doesnt really bother me. its a work in progress on a limited budget, so i cant always have the best stuff lol.
