New to Mini and love it

Hey everyone. Just bought an 06 mini cooper as an afterthought on the used car lot and I've never driven anything like it. I used to be a Chevy truck guy. I love this car.
Couple of questions. Mine still has the 2006 DVD for Navigation. Anyone know where I can get the 2011 DVD?
Also, I'd love to hear veterans answer this. What was the first thing you upgraded on your MINI and why?

Congrats, I also impulse purchased an '06 Cooper on a used lot, not too long ago. The first upgrades I have in the works are new tires and a stiffer rear sway bar - most people recommend a 19mm bar. Is yours a Cooper S or a "Just-a-Cooper"? Don't forget to post some pictures. Welcome to the board!

Cheers
Dan

congrats

Congrats on your purchase. Mini ownership has been a new experience for me. What they lack in reliability/overall quality I think they make up for in driving enjoyment. First thing I upgraded was to get a set of snow tires and mount them on the oem wheels. In a few months i will be getting a new set of dedicated summer wheels and tires. After that it will be suspension or exhaust.

I did a pulley and CAI first, then the sway bar. I did the tires(and wheels) after I felt I'd gotten some use and money's worth on the original set. On the '06 you will love the whine after the CAI, I miss it every day.

Thanks to all. I have a pioneer that i'm installing that has bluetooth but I'd love for it to work with the steering wheel controls.
I would like to get a CAI but I'm really liking the MPG and don't wanna lose any.

Welcome Arby Eye!

My first mod was the JCW strut brace. I believe it tightens up the suspension and I have done it to my other car and it helped a lot!
