Hiya from Germany...for now
Hiya everyone! My name is Heather Lynch. I just purchased my first Mini Cooper Clubman S and I love her VERY much. My husband is a CH-47 Chinook pilot in the US Army and we are currently stationed in Germany. In a few weeks, I'll be shipping my baby back to the states and I'll bite my nails waiting her return. I have dreamed of owning a Mini since the first time I saw one and now my dream is reality. Got the Clubman since I have an almost 4 year old daughter and needed a touch more space. We haven't ventured onto the autobahn yet but soon...VERY soon. And now her stats, "Cora" is a 2010 Clubman S, Lazer Blue with Silver bonnet stripes and roof. I just brought her home January 20th. She had 26 miles on her. Love my MINI
...hate letting my husband drive her!
We are headed to Fort Riley Kansas so if you live in the area...give me a heads-up!

Not so many twisty roads there in Kansas. Atleast the Mini will keep you somewhat entertained on those long, LONG, straight stretches of highways. Oh and you should take it on the autobahn. Mine has been on there a few times going to Ramstien and back. This spring she, Matilda, is headed to the Nurburgring. Tell your husband thanks for all the lifts in his Chinook for me in the 'Raq. Even though i'm sure it wasn't him
Re: Bloodycow-Might be headed to Ramstein in two weekends. I need to get a cool Euro plate for the front of my Mini for the states. Germany doesn't let you keep your plates when you leave anymore. Boo for that! Long straight stretches are NOT something I look forward to but I miss my homeland. It would not have been my husband but the "hooker" community appreciates your appreciation.

Hi Heather! Glad to see that you love your Clubbie. I will soon find out how you feel about letting the military husband (USMC) drive the MINI once mine arrives. Best wishes once your family and MINI get back to the mainland

I think you’ll enjoy Kansas. It’s much hillier than Florida
with many scenic routes off the main Interstate (I-70). Since Fort Riley is only a couple of hours away from Kansas City, zip on over to KC for a club meet sometime http://www.kcminiclub.com/index.html.
Welcome to the forum, when you get to Kansas jump on I-70 and head for Mount Sunflower, its the highest point in the state and well worth the scenic drive, can be climbed in any season, and bring your camera for the thrilling views from the summit.
Thanks for all the support for my husband serving our country. Being in Germany I've missed hearing that. I uploaded one pic in my gallery, I think. Sorry still figuring this thing out. Planning on taking Cora through the wash this weekend and then breaking out the camera and getting pics to show the family back in the states. Can't wait to go for scenic drives. Autobahn isn't so much for the scenic as the hurry up and get there route.
Welcome to the forum Heather!
Congratulations on your new MINI Clubman.
Please tell your husband, thank you for his service
I use to be in the Army myself. I was a crew-chief , now I work on them as a civilian. NSDQ!

Nice MINI! Take it out for a rip on the autobahn - you'll be surprised how well these cars do at high speed. I also recommend taking it out for a drive on the Romantische Strasse if you have time. I thoroughly enjoyed the scenery and small towns along that route.
