Out of curiosity, what's on this checklist?

 

I have it in my Excel spreadsheet. I gathered this list from various posts I saw on this forum. Then I added my own stuff to it.

 

I have a expected delivery date on the OL! May 10

 

Cool! Did you call your MA to confirm? When I got mine, the date on OL was actually wrong. I could've gotten it 2 days earlier than the date shown on OL.

Yeah. His computer shows May 9 as the expected arrival date but they had several MINIs show up on Tuesday that were expected today. I hope that means mine will show up today

Yeah, looking around these forums, I had an idea of what I would be looking for when taking delivery, but your list really helped solidify that.

 

Woo hoo! My MINI hit 151-Body Shop according to my MA. Supposed to be done by Monday. Finally, some motion off of "Scheduled for Production"

Gonna be really tight to make it here by end of May - but I have enough stuff on it to qualify if they shuffle the packages in June. (Keep MINI Connected with Nav for a second month, and I am gold...)

 

Woah, the OL now shows a 5/7 delivery!!! Not sure if that will be possible though since the dealer needs 4 hours for tinting + time for PDI.

 

As of today, may 6, the OL estimates my delivery to be May 5, but the car still hasn't arrived at the dealer yet. And to really show how accurate it is, the OL also says my car is at the VDC. Lol. But the dealer thinks the car will be in tomorrow, though i still might not get it yet cause they still have to do my suspension install and alignment.

 

I talked to my MA today and told him to put me on Priority 1... Is it gonna make a difference?

 

OL says I'm at the Distribution Center but I can't see a delivery date.

 

OL now says VDC, with a date of tomorrow. Is that estimated delivery to the dealership? OL= Only a Longshot. Such an estimation of a guessing game. At least we're close!!

I just checked the Owner's Lounge...Apparently mine is still at the VDC even though I took delivery nine days ago.

Are you all having your dealership do window tints/clear bra?

 

I would definetly have another vendor do those things. The dealer is probably overpriced and id rather have a tint shop do the tint since that's what they do and are probably more experienced with it.

 

I only have experience with the clear bra on a Vette, Infinity FX35, and Infinity G35. It is critical that the installer be experienced with the type of film you choose to use. With the caveat that I know the films have advanced I am not choosing to use a clear bra on the MINI. If/when the chipping annoys me enough I will have a really good paint shop repaint the bonnet.
