Gack! Bank Holiday Season

In another post, I noted that the time from first entering "Scheduled for Production" and the estimated day for production completion seems really long for me. My MINI entered production on April 21. My consistent date for completion is May 9th. Seems about a week long from what others have said they have experienced.

Then I took a look at this year's Bank Holidays in Britain. Holidays that are in the midst of my build schedule include:
April 22 - Good Friday
April 25 - Easter Monday
April 29 - "Wedding of Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, and Kate Middleton"
May 1 - May Day (First Monday in May)

Yikes! That is 4 days off during this time!! Plus, even if the plant is working weekends (not clear they are running 24/7 right now), they wouldn't work Easter weekend.

So, no wonder it is taking that long. If they run their monthly batch of JCWs down the line, that would add to it too.

Wow, you really hit some bad timing with your production start (stop, start again, stop) date...I think I want to move to Great Britain. I'm assuming those are paid holidays....not bad.

Hey Eno, wake up!

Our fat Madame is easing into Port Hueneme right now. I'm trying to resist running up the coast on my motorbike just to snap a photo of her. Not obsessed, not obsessed...

I hope so. I'm locked in to 0.9% and just need the package for free.

Confirmed about the option package deal. My MA just let me know that the option package thing is going again. I didnt' ask about financing though since she said I"m still locked in on the 0.9% for 60 months.

Hmmm... I called my MA today to find out if I could change my roof color from black to white, but he said they couldn't because the car is in production. But the owners lounge only shows it as on order.

So, is he BSing me so he can try to sell me a vinyl roof covering, or is he telling the truth?

Call 1866ASKMINI and check. Their info is very accurate up until the time the car gets to port then you have to rely on your MA for updates.

The OL is never accurate. Talk to a live person at ASKMINI. I called pretty much everyday before my car was completed.

Cool that's good news. I was worried when I checked the miniusa.com website today and they had pulled all mention of any "special" offers or financing.

May Incentives

According to miniusa.com May incentives are:
- 0.9% financing + one free option
-MINI Connected w/ Nav
-Sport Pkg (does not include wheel upgrade)
-Premium Pkg

OK; that's great news on the extension of the 0.9% rate and the option package.

So, if I knock off $1750 for the Premium Pkg, should I pocket the difference or buy some extended warrantee? How much extra warrantee will $1750 buy, anyway? I wonder if its worth buying... does anyone have any feedback on that?

There might be a small change with the 0.9% financing, FYI. It looks like it only applies up to 24 months. At least that's how I read it...

Obviously that's not a problem for those of us that already locked in the 0.9.

And great news on the free package!

Yeah - 0.9% out to 60 months is only for the Clubman. 24 months for the other covered models. It is in the fine print.

I have my 60 lock on. Heres hoping mine gets built in the next day or two so it has a chance of getting in this month. Have both Premium and Mini Connected with Nav on it.

No phone call today so I guess my car isn't in yet...maybe tomorrow. MAs supposed to call when car comes in either today or tomorrow.
And then I'm supposed to talk to a service tech too cause I want them to install my JCW suspension with more negative camber, aka that free 'push in the top of the struts' method.
