Greetings from Rochester, Minnesota!

Hi all! First post for a brand new '10 Cooper S Mayfair owner here -- PW/B. Picked it up in late February and now have 1200 miles. Loving the ride, and all the heads turning my way.

Mysteriously, my commute to work has suddenly changed from 4 miles each way to nearly 10. Is this common with new MINI owners?

Welcome to the forum, and yes MINI drivers have tendancy to get lost even when driving familiar roads, it's purely mental but tough to cure, ENJOY!

Welcome neighbor! You're practically in my back yard.

I see you got your Mayfair from Motorwerks. That's where I do my MINI business. You will not be disappointed, as they seem to be good people there both on the sales and service sides.

I'm in your neck of the woods frequently, so I'll keep an eye out for you.

Congrats on the new acquisition. Nice color combo.

Thanks for the warm welcomes!

Gil - nice to hear from someone nearby, and especially good to hear a positive report about Motorwerks. Had a good sales experience with them, but I haven't yet had the need for a service visit.

Loved the MN Road Recon pix in your gallery - I'm assuming that's in far SE MN toward the river? I don't get to that area often, and I'm usually only on I-90 passing through. That will probably change this summer, now that I have the MINI...and I'd love to try your route.

Yep, you guessed correctly -- Houston and Fillmore Counties. In fact, we did a group drive up that way just last month. The route that we used for that drive is in a PDF file attached to the first post in the event thread in our club forum:

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ve-4-17-a.html

The hard part about choosing a route in that area is the fact that there are several awesome twisty driving roads that can't really be used because the road surfaces are so chopped up and crappy (e.g., MN-76 between Houston and Caledonia, MN-43 between Rushford and Mabel). If the roads were better maintained there'd be a lot more potential route possibilities.

There are a bunch of MSP-area MINI enthusiasts around that I'm sure you'll eventually hook up with. I think they organize around a Facebook page, but I'm not certain of that. At least a couple that I know of in Rochester too.
