new mini in the garage

I just leased a left over brand new 09' MCS last week and love it. I dont have have a digital camera but here are the specs on her:

-midnight black metallic
-red leather/carbon black cloth
-anthracite headliner
-17" flame spoke alloys
-limited slip differential
-muti function steering wheel
-rear fog lamp
-foglights
-xenon headlights
-bluetooth and usb/ipod
-white turn signals
-dsc
-6 speed manual
-cbc
-ebd
-tpm

hopefully I can get her washed and post some pics soon. I have 650 miles on her already. any suggestions on how often I should check the oil and when I should do the first oil change. Anything else you guys think I should do now? thanks

Welcome to the site, and to MINIs.

Check the oil weekly, and the first change should be within 2000 miles or so, 5000 to 7000 after that.

to this! My MINI is a garage princess, but the workhorse Saturn wagon has 290,000 (yep, almost 300K) on it, and we've religiously taken care of oil more frequently than recommended. Enjoy your MINI, and don't worry about opening the garage door to tell it, "Goodnight!" You won't be the only one!!
