New Mini owner and proud of it!

Hi Y'all!

My husband and I bought a 2010 Mini Cooper with the weather package, manual 6 speed transmission - Pepper White... nothing fancy since it's our "toodle around" in car and for me to drive back and forth to work since I have close to a 100 mile round trip every day. We are hoping to cut down on the miles on our regular vehicles as well as save a bit on our gas bill. I love it and it's a "Cutely Tough" looking car. My husband says "he doesn't drive "Cute"" so I added the Tough..

We've had the Mini for 5 days now. Just wanted to say Hi!

I'm cute and my Mini is even more cute then I am. BUT, of course my JCW is tougher then I am.

Welcome to the obsession from MAD-Town, WI. We're all expecting pix, and I envy the "100 miles of daily quality time" that you get to spend with your MINI.

Well... there is no better way to "toodle around" then in a Pepper White... Congrats and welcome to the family!

Morning All,
I forgot to mention I live in Romance AR and work in North Little Rock, AR. I appreciate all the "Welcomes". As I said, I haven't driven it to work yet so I haven't had any real "quality time" in her yet.

I am sure I will have questions on one thing or another and this looks like a great place for answers!

Again, thanks for the "Welcomes"

Awesome! Huge welcome from another Arkansan! I thought I detected a bit of a southern accent You definitely should join the AMOKs https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...klub-amok-200/

I'm currently awaiting the arrival of my 2010 Pepper White MCS. It should be docking today in SC and then head to Roadshow after it's visit to the VDC. Yours sounds a bit like mine in that minimal is better - just the cold weather package, xenons, and rear fog for me.

Hope to see you at one of the AMOK rides!

Cute and tough...

Reminds me of the Honda Ridgeline commercial with Chuck Norris... "Where tough meets classy"

Welcome to NAM and congrats on your MINI!

Samysonary...I love the Chuck Norris comment! Love it!

RVExotics, I will have to think about the club. I don't usually use most of the stuff on my Murrano...so why bother with it. I do love the heated seats on the Mini. I too have the rear Fog! We must me almost twins. Is your Standard - is that what MCS means??? I told my hubby about the club. We might have to join.

Well, well, well -- another satisfied by the MiniCooper! Be warned, you are now owned by that baby. When you have questions, pop on over to "things you didn't know about your........" - just everything you can think of and more will be on that forum. Welcome!

MCS stands for MINI Cooper S. It is the "sportier" version with the turbo charged engine. Mine will have a white roof. Does yours have white or black?

RVExotics,
Mine has the black roof. I drove it to work this morning and was SOOOO nervous. On our trip home from the Dealer, not 20 minutes down the road following behind my husband in his Armada, a rock hit the windshield and chipped it! So... I am trying to be extra careful.

I hate tailgaters! So... I am trying to be extra careful.

Ack! Those windows seemed destined for chips, possibly because of the steep angle. I know I chipped mine in my old '07 MCS and my partner chipped his, which grew into a full crack, in his MC.

Enjoy and hopefully the paranoia stage will pass soon!

Get it repaired for free.

I think every insurance company has a deal that the glass company will repair the chip at no cost to you. Just call your insurance company and see which one they use. The repair person can even come to your house or workplace to do the repair. They use some sort of epoxy that blends in with the glass and it is better then replacing the windshield. Do it before it cracks and can't be repaired. I had it done on my Corvette and after the repair I could not find the place where it was chipped at all. The guy came to my work place and did the repair. Nationwide paid him.
Don't wait until it starts cracking.

Congrats...

Owning a MINI isn't just a slight fever...It's an addiction that becomes...a good old habit...just ask my wife...she has three.

The MINI events are the greatest...You meet new lasting friends that care.
