New 09 JCW Hardtop!
New 09 JCW Hardtop!
Picking up a new 09 JCW. I hope it was the right decision. I've been wanting one for a long time and I finally pulled the trigger. I fought with myself that the car was too 'girly' but I really like the cars.
You are gonna love it.
Hi TripleNickel,
I do believe yor really going to like your JCW. What options are on it? I have one with the Sport Suspension as the only option. Let us know how you like it after driving it for a week.

Stereotypes and misconceptions are promoted by those who cannot or will not see things for themselves or for those that allow others to think for them!
Your JCW will give you tons of motoring happiness...
Oh and if you think that your MINI is girly, then think again...
Ask ronnie948 about hot laps at Daytona International Speedway with his JCW and also what his friend, racing driver Randy Pobst (2003, 2007, 2008 SCCA SPEED World ChallengeGT champion and two-time class winner of the 24 Hours of Daytona) thinks of the MINI.
Enjoy & Motor On!

I have had the MINI since June and thoroughly enjoy driving the car - every time. There are many MINI owners (male and female) that understand what an incredible sports car MINI's are. Don't worry about the opinion of the ignorant. I have yet to have anyone that drove my MINI question my decision.
Relax, stop second guessing and enjoy your MINI when it arrives!!! Happy Motoring
Mini is a Sports car not a girly car.
I see more females driving Corvettes Ford Pick-up trucks & Mustangs then any other car out there. Most of the Mini's around here are driven by Males. All of my friends are into performance cars and they all like my JCW. I have not been ragged on one time because I drive a Mini. Anybody that knows cars and loves racing/rallying knows what a Mini is and knows their racing history.

Hello and Welcome! What are the specs on your JCW? Color, options, ect! I love my JCW and I think you will too!!! I am a female JCW owner, but to be honest my husband drives it more than I do and loves it!! The majority of owners that I see at events and such are mostly male!! We get a lot of comments on the JCW and they are always from males!
Congrats on your JCW and enjoy the Motoring!!

I'm a female soon-to-be JCW owner whose boyfriend, younger brother, and dad are ALL having an absolute FIT to drive mine as soon as I get it! If this is a girly car, then maybe it's time I stopped being such a tomboy!
Personally, though, I'm going to agree that the "girly" cars are the recent redesigns of the classic muscle cars or, in some areas, a good ol' pickup truck. "Girls" know that guys "love mustangs, 'vettes, camaros, a girl with a truck, etc.," so a girl who just wants a car to show off to "the boys" will get one of those. A *woman* will get the car *she* wants.
(All that aside, the idea of a "girly" car just makes me laugh in itself, because it's like calling a small Colt handgun a "girly" gun. It's still a gun! You're still talking about turbochargers, engines, and grease, here.)

Congrats to clockworktomato. tripplenickel and other soon-to-be JCW owners. I have a 'justanS" and enjoy its power. I would not let myself drive the JCW as I have never had "too much power" (no such a thing). I can only imagine what another 35 HP on this chassis must be like.
Got it delivered last week, Dark Silver, 6MT, Premium and Cold Weather packages (not by choice). All else is standard. I love the car. It is amazing with the 'Sport' mode on. I would like to tweak the exhaust a bit, make it a bit louder.
Thanks for all the positive comments. The car is truly a blast to drive. I've owned and raced some great cars, 996 turbo, STi, 350Z. This car is one of the best handling, neutral cars I've ever driven.

You want girly? Buy a Smart car. Now that's girly. No horsepower, no throttle response, no stickshift, handles like a baby buggy, and only gets so-so gas mileage. I have to admit that they are kind of cute though.
I promise you will love that car as much as I do mine. My only regret is that I didn't buy it sooner! Congratulations on a wise decision.
