New MINI owner in Vermont

New 02 MINI owner, still getting used to all the quirks, and bitching about expensive oil changes. Very different than my Infiniti, but very happy with my choice to join the MINI club, and maybe in a few years I can afford a brand new MINI with all the bells and whistles!

Only had her for a few weeks, (also only been driving manual for a few weeks... ) So I'm looking around and educating myself, I'm not too into the whole mechanical aspect of things (as long as its stays cute and doesn't break down, thats OK.) maybe I should be a little more into that...

well hello MINI nation!

Hello and welcome from a couple states to the right. The good news about the oil changes is that for you need to do less of them. Plus you can always do your own to keep the cost down. If you havent been before now you qualify to attend the British Invasion car show in Stowe around the 3rd week in September each year. Do a google search to see what the fun is all about.

Me changing oil? lol, I think my friends would pay to see that. The winding roads of Stowe might be fun!

Welcome from a fellow Vermonter!

All MINI owners in Vermont are very welcome in the Green Mountain Chapter BMW CCA club and our little Vermont MINI Club.

Coming up soon is a spring detailing tech workshop sponsored by made in Switzerland - Waxoyl Professional products. All day session at Rutland Motorcars on April, Saturday 25th. The BMW Club is providing lunch and you are more than welcome to join in.

We have many more events planned this summer. Like the OktoberFAST at Stowe (great place to show off your MINI with big brother and sister BMWs), autocrossing at the SCCV events (fun, fun, fun!), a “Live Tech Talk with Mike Miller” (famous BMW Roundel tech editor) at Mountain Auto Sports in Ludlow, VT and more.

My personal favorite will be attending together with the Sports Car Club of Vermont autocross season on the freshly tarmaced Stowe ski resort parking lot! Yes, running up the notch towards Stowe is a blast too.

Oil changes, easy! I'll post up a photo how-to in our tech tips section soon.

Stay tuned in. For all the details visit >> http://www.vtbmwcca.org

Welcome Cassparagus!
Great car choice!
You will love the way the Mini becomes part of you when you drive on curvey
roads. You're in a great place for driving too. Brings back fond memories (went to Keene State in NH, had friends in Stowe)

Hi There! (Late welcome) - get to make it to any events this year? BTW the notch road is best at 6:00 am on a Sunday morning, preferably heading to an AutoX - fewer 'tourists'

Welcome Casey! You'll enjoy your MINI! We should try to all get together soon before the snow starts.

There is a semi-formal Vermont MINi club thread here...

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...mini-club.html

We'll try to organize a meeting soon so we can all get together.

ps... glad to see you're sporting a 3B 20v'er. I've also got a black 20v turbo S6, KEWL Q and have owned eight other Audi quattros including 2 urqs.

Most of the year it's pretty clear... at least from my own experience. Empty on the Stowe side throughout the summer.

Tourists during the spring or fall? Ehhh. Maybe some hiking up Mansfield...
