New to MINI from Sunny Southern California!

New to MINI from Sunny Southern California!
I've wanted a MINI since the Italian Job. I finally have been able to by my first new car, a Cooper Hardtop in Chili Red with white top and bonnet stripes. I look forward to learning more about my wonderful new car from all of you knowledgeable people.
I must say the first time I drove my new car around a curve might have been a life changing experience. I think I finally understand the phrase "corners like its on rails". I've been driving an adorable VW Cabrio for the last 8 years and while it was cute it did not handle well. The contrast between that and my MINI is insane. I will be celebrating by taking a drive up PCH this weekend.

Where abouts are you? I'm also in SoCal... I drove PCH when I first moved out here from Florida. It totally threw me for a loop, since I had never driven on land that had, :gasp: elevation changes. You should take it out on Ortega if you get the chance. That canyon is REALLY fun, along with the fantastic view of Lake Elsinore...

Thank you all for the welcome! I did check out that thread, I love it. I live in Santa Monica and will be driving up Latigo Canyon Rd today. But I grew up in the Central Valley, and loved driving up in the mountains, so I am excited to have car that is well suited for that kind of driving.

welcome to NAM...i am also in SoCal...i've run with the Lotus Group on Latigo in the past, a great drive indeed!!!
im near Ortega on the lake Elsinore side, so if you guys/gals want to do a run there ill def try to join you!!!

BTW: If you see a Bluish Grey MINI with Red mirrors parked in front of the Starbucks near SC, isame!
