Ok I have some in my gallery now, I think.

I've had nothing but trouble with the site today, getting DB errors on almost every page, reloading eventually gets the page to load, but uploading the photos was a nightmare. (thus no comments or anything)

Anyway the photos that should be there are of my new BRG Clubman fresh off Fedora earlier this week, and driven through the rain this morning.

I really like the auto rain sensing wipers, too cool by far.

I think they need to do some work on the operating system. It sure is throwing a bunch of errors. I think it needs a good reboot.

Maybe someone will address the issue.

I wish someone would find my car

Pat,

On the owner's site on MINIusa, it now says my car is expected to be delivered on March 5. Don't know if that means delivered to the dealer or delivered by the dealer to me.

That's great news Jerry. You found that under the details section of the web site?
I'm going to go and look and see if it's changed for me.

Back shortly.

Mine is still the same. It just shows the order detail, the packages etc. nothing else.

Am I looking in the right place. It still says it is enroute.

Guess I just have to wait.

Dang it!!

When you get your car you gotta give us some pics.

March 5 is the date it will roll off the transporter at the dealer. Unless you have some extensive dealer options, they should be able to turn it around to you within a day or two.

The delivery date should appear right under the dealer name on the order detail page, but not until after the car is on the car transporter. Call your MA first thing tomorrow. He/she should have much more current info.

I have to be looking in the wrong place. I don't even see my dealers name. I am on the screen where on the left the items listed are
on order
scheduled for production
awaiting transport
enroute
at distribution center
at your mini dealer
review order detail

Looking under review order detail all I can see is
production number
vin
current status
and further down the model descriptions

I'll check it in the am and see whats shaking.

I'm getting just a little po'd now!!

Pat, did you check in with your dealer today?
I'm eager for you to get this car! Seems like it's taking forever, even for me. I can't imagine your wait!

Pat, here is the info that should be showing in this order
Production Number: 689xxx
VIN: WMWMFxxxxxxxxxxxx
Current Status: (what does yours say?)
MINI Dealer: xxxxxxx (a number)
Pickup Dealer: MINI of xxxxxxxxxxx
Estimated Delivery Date: mm/dd/yyyy
Model Description: Cooper S JCW (example)
Exterior Description: Mellow Yellow paint (example)
Interior Description: Leather Punch Carbon Black (example)

Factory Ordered Options: (all the items here are in a dropdown box)

All of these items appeared within about a week after we ordered except for the Estimated Delivery Date which did not appear until about 3-4 days after the Otello arrived in port. Which of the above items are not yet showing for you?

The train carrying mine may show up tomorrow, then another 2 -4 days for it to be off loaded, then dealer prep...so maybe another week (?) 'til I can bring it home.

None of these items has ever showed up on the web site. Only those that I listed none others. (I look daily.)
I emailed my MA today and apparently they have no idea where the car is. They have no record of it coming off the ship at all. As well MINI USA whom I called today has no idea where the car is. The person I spoke with could not help. As well the recording says that the car is "waiting for a shipping vessel". It's as if the car didin't ship at all yet the WW track and trace website says the car was on that ship. But it still does not show as being released from customs.

I think they have a huge snafu on their hands and someone is not stepping up to the plate.

I'll give em some more time but my patience will run out eventually. I'm actually going to go to the Mazda dealer after work tonight and test drive one of the new Mazda 6's. I really like the way the car looks. I realize it isn't a MINI, trust me I have no illusions about that, and it is less money. So you never know.

Regards,

Pat

Yikes, it truly is a ghost car.

Current status says "enroute".

Mini dealeer does not exist
Pickup dealeer does not exist
Estimated delivery date does not exist

the rest does. None of those things has been visible since the car was ordered. (I bet they are bringing it in as a stock vehicle rather than an ordered vehicle. When the first car went sideways they reordered and I have a production date in like 2 days. I wonder if that could be the case??

Frustrated in Seattle.

Ours was in production within 2 days as well. Even if it was still showing as going to inventory, it should be showing the destination dealer. Are all the specs and options listed as you want them? Have you spoken with your MA yet? Also call 1-866-ASK-MINI. If the car was ordered for you they will ask your name after you give them the VIN. If they say that isn't your car, you know something is fishy. Good Luck! I also have my suspicions about what has happened, but I don't want to alarm you. PM me if you don't get satifaction from ASK-MINI or your MA.

Pat,

My details does not show a dealer either. Never has. Also, Ihoboy says that the car would be showing a delivery date after the car was put on the transporter, but in my case, the car is coming from Oxnard to Las Vegas, so it should only be on the transporter for a day. I think there's some real confusing information on the website, so I wouldn't sweat it. My dealer said he would not be able to find out anything about the car once it has entered the VDC until they list it on a sheet saying it was on the truck on the way to the dealer.

On another note, if you are going to look at other cars, take a look at the Nissan 370Z

That is a sweet car Jerry. But by the time I load it up with want I want it's just a bit rich. I didn't really want to spend that much. Maybe the prices have gone down since the last time I looked. I may have to look again.

Thanks for the reassuring words. (My wifes car never did show any of these things either that's why it is so foreign to me.)

Regards,

Pat

Ghost MINI Still Not Located

Well Nissan has a $2500.00 rebate if you buy off the lot on the 370Z. I think I am going to go and drive one tomorrow. I can get a pretty decent level of "stuff" with the rebate and I kick in another 1K or so. I even found a dealer who has 1 in the color I would want and the right transmission.

I'm getting tired of waiting on MINI. Never enough information, no one knows anything, can't tell you where the car is blah, blah, blah! I'm getting pretty frustrated. Besides I can always, maybe, once in a while, drive my wife's MINI.

So I'm going to give MINI until 11:00 am tomorrow and then I'm heading to the Nissan dealer 5 minutes from my office to take a spin in the 370Z.

If I make it to the dealer chances are the MINI deal has fallen apart.

Anyway, I gotta hit the hay. I'll report in tomorrow on the continuing saga of the Ghost MINI.

Regards,

Pat

Good news! My MA said Mini told him that my car will be on the transporter tomorrow and since we are only 5 hrs away from Oxnard, my car could be here by late afternoon!

Whooooo Hoooooo. Good for you Jerry. I still don't know where the ghost car is. My MA still has not got back to me. Seems strange that a car manufacturer does not know where their cars are. Strangest thing I ever heard of.

I just finished test driving a 370Z. Black with the sport package, 6 speed, Bose. It's a real nice car. Not a mini but probably will outhandle a MINI. It will certainly be faster. 332 hp or so compared to 172. You can hear a lot of road noise more so than the MINI. Also I was wrong on the rebate. That is only for the 350Z.

I came to an agreement for the price on the car. I didn't do the deal yet because if owe it to my MA to hear form him first before I pull the trigger. I just hope MINI decides to figure out what is going on now not tomorrow.

I will be paying about 5K more which bums me out but hey it's only money right?

Sorry Jerry, didn't mean to steal your thunder. Please send up some pictures when you get the car. I would be anxious to see that baby.

Good luck my friend and Happy motoring.

Pat

I have to track mine through BMW Canada. They've been telling me since 06-Feb that it's been sitting on the dock in Halifax, but that it usually only stays there a few days...yet my MA told me two weeks ago that it was on the train with an ETA of 03-Mar (today)...I just go off the phone with BMW-ca, and they're still showing it as being on the dock.

I don't think all of their systems get updated (one BMW operator said that the system may not have been updated for "this" car) properly all of the time, so perhaps your ghost-MINI just hasn't been updated properly....good luck either way (I know I'll be pissed if mine has really been sitting on the dock all this time!).

I know exactly how you feel dvhone.

It wouldn't be so bad if someone could just tell you what the A&^%$%^ is going on. It sure dosen't give you a good feeling when the car company can't even tell you where the car is.

I can tell you this. I spoke to my MA just a bit ago and I asked him, "do you think the car is being repaired from damage enroute", and he said yes. As I understand it when MINI's go missing like this a lot of times it's because of damage enroute. My MA did tell me that once he hears from the Distribution Center he would be able to tell me if the car was damaged and what is being repaired. I got a bad feeling about this.

Good luck tracking you car down. Let us know how it works out I will do the same.

Regards,

Pat
