On the WW website, they are showing the Fedora as having left the Canal Zone.

Not an 80 hour wait??

For all of you on Fedora... She is just about to cross the canal...

Hopefully http://www.pancanal.com will be back online soon so you can spot it on one of their cameras !

Chris.
It appears that the Fedora did not have the 80 hour wait to cross the canal as thought earlier. That is good news. So I think it will be on schedule to make it California by the 24th. Good news for all us West Coasters.

Yea baby that's what I was waiting for.

Were on the home stretch now. I can't wait. Hopefully it won't sit at the VDC for days on end like my last car. It seemed like it would never leave.

Hello Week 4!

I have been lurking since before this thread began. I ordered on January 10th and had build completed on the 21st. I think that puts me in week 4, right? I watched as the first few of the group took delivery, and I was thrilled to follow them with my delivery on February 7th. I've been having so much fun since then, that I haven't even stopped for photos.

PatM, I can't imagine waiting for multiple different builds. Based on my experience debating options, once you get the one you really want, you'll be thrilled. I was driving the other day and realized that this is the first car I've owned that has absolutely everything I wanted, and nothing that I didn't.

I know, I owe some photos. All the best.

Nice car! It looks just like my wife's car only yours is a Club. Very nice. Sometimes I wish I had gone for the Clubman. Too late!

Happy motoring.

I was close to getting buyer's remorse (spending $33K on a MINI, or getting a year-old 335 or a 528 for the same money), and then I drove that thing home and it kept bringing a smile to my face. I'm really surprised that the car can be comfortable, yet so tight in turns, plus it has plenty of pickup for a 1.6L. I wish they put this mill in a 1-series.

The 1 series just isn't as fun to drive, even with the 3.5L engine.

That's really good to hear. I have a loaded week 3 MINI still on the boat, and I'm constantly uneasy about dropping entry-level luxury car cash on it. I hope I feel the same way you do when my butt is finally in the seat.

At $42k, the JCW isn't even ENTRY level luxury. But where else can you get this type of luxury handling and performance for that price?

So my baby has finally reached American soil after sitting on a ship waiting for the boat to fill up!

Did it end up going through SC like you thought it would?

Yeah, or that's what my MA told me. It's actually been ready to pick up since Tuesday evening (they had to install the aero kit at the dealership) but I'm not able to go get it until Saturday. Looking forward to zipping around all weekend long!

Yeah, "zipping around" at up to 4000 rpm for the next 1200 miles. It's actually not as bad as I thought it would be - even at sub-4K rpm there is plenty of torque.

Yeah, it's crazy all the goodies you can add. That's close to what I will be paying. I had to make an effort to keep it under $40k w/ tax and licensing.

Will be picking ours up on Saturday as well. Dealer got it last Friday, but has some more stuff to add (brace, scuttles, invisi-guard).

Took my '02 in for some work and got a 328i ($36k stripped) as a loaner. It does not feel as solid as a MINI nor does it come close to the performance of a JCW. Regardless of what any of us paid for our respective MINIs, we got a great value as compared with some of the other "entry" level luxury cars.

Ha! Yes, I predict it will be difficult to behave myself while I'm breaking it in. Glad to hear you're not finding it too bad.
