Has anyone else ordered the new Midnight Black on their MINI? If so, what production week are you? And, did you order the sports package as well?

I have not ordered, but I am considering MBM. I have not seen it yet, but would like to see the color first-hand. If it were solid gloss black (non-metallic), I'd order it for sure. I do not care for the black metallic colors I have seen in the past. They tend to look less black and more dark dark gray.

Have you seen MBM on a Mini?

 

According to the configurator, it's a metallic. I am curious as to what it looks like too. I thought someone here had mentioned it was the same as one of the BMW colors. I could be hallucinating though.

I have yet to see it on a MINI, but I have seen a swatch of it. It does look like a true black; the swatch kinda reminds me of the black saphire that BMW offers. I will post pics as soon as I see her, and try and describe the color better

 

If it's a true black, that's great... I can't wait to see it first-hand, or see a swatch, or photos... Right now I'm thinking about ordering at the first of the year for early spring delivery.

We just got my wife's '08 CR MCS in September and we love it (our first Mini). I told her I need a Mini of my own...

 

Interesting. I would love a black clubbie with red stripes. Let's see...how many months till Foxy is paid off...

What could I need more than another dark colored car to keep clean!

 

LOL, I completely understand; all of my cars have been black either by fate or by choice.... Believe it or not, I don't like any of the other colors available on the S. If NFR came on the S or if they still offered the dark purple, I probably would have gotten that.

I thought about doing red stripes, and I might later on down the line. I wanted to be really different so I am having some custom work done on a set of purple ones , they are going to have black stars on them too. I can't wait to see a mock up done for the stripes, and better yet, I can't wait to see them installed .

I'm also considering the midnight black. For those that are also considering or have ordered did you pick the white or black roof?

I was thinking all black would look really sharp with the white sport stripes.

Any others thinking this is the way to go or will it look better with the white roof and mirrors.

Haven't seen any astro blacks on the road to help with my decision. Thanks.

 

I ordered mine with the roof and mirrors in the body color. I am going take out almost all of the chrome.

Although, in all fairness in the swatches that I have seen, the Astro black looks nothing like the Midnight black.

If you look in my gallery there are some photos that shows a black clubby with purple sports stripes on it. That might give you a good idea.

I should have the keys for her in about three weeks, when I get her in my grubby little hands, I will post as much info as I can.

I too am considering the MB. Think it would look GREAT with a black roof too.

 

Our Midnight Black Clubman S is currently "awaiting transport" will probably be 2 more weeks at least. It's port of entry is Charleston, SC. My MA thinks ours is the very first Midnight Black MINI, or at least the first Clubman.
It will be all black. Looking to trade the silver Clubman c-pillars for a set of black. Ridiculous we're forced to have these in silver.

 

I agree completely about the c-pillars, going to go to the dealership tomorrow and order a new set, the only bad part being that the bumper part only comes in primer. Don't ask me why, but I think I will send it to Lyle and have him vinyl wrap it for me
