All Aboard the Fedora! Departing Southampton Oct 1st
Here's a photo of the Fedora as she is leaving: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...&postcount=641 Click on the thumbnail.
Check out the Sticky in 1st Gear about tracking one's MINI https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...d.php?t=144057...scroll down and there is a way...though it's not always that easy
The Fedora's call sign is SLKU... It's a "voluntary" deal for ships to report in, apparently, so there's no guarantee that we'll be able to see it.
You can however follow your ship through the Atlantic (until Halifax, NS or the Panama Canal whichever is first) using a very helpful website SAILWX (http://www.sailwx.info). On SAILWX select “Ship Tracker” at the top of the page and then “Find specific ship by name or callsign”. The last entry on the page will allow you to enter the name of your ship. Once you find your ship, you will be shown the latest information for your ship’s position at sea and any other ships in the area. See the Links section for tracking information for ships at NYC, Charleston and other US ports.

I tried the sail.info link but, as you state, it is purely voluntary and neither the Fedora nor the Isolde seem to be volunteering anything. We are stuck waiting for the Fedora to get closer to Halifax.
Those of us who have dealers not too far afield from the VDC in NJ are lucky.
Have a nice trip, fellow Week 39ers! My VIN never did show up on either the Fedora or Isolde; I'm still holding out hope for a K-Line ship...

That's all I can find for now but at least we are on the list. I found some webcams for the Port of Halifax but none show the Autoport.

Hey, thanks for that! The tracking venue for these ships is a voluntary one...if you scroll back you can read about it - http://www.sailwx.info/shiptrack/shiplocations.phtml The last time I tried it, it must have been showing the Fedora from quite another passage, as she was off the coast of Africa! Actually, I now remember that I'd gotten that location via another site that I'd read about on the sailwx.info site
Just checked again and there's nothing. I think the best bet is to keep checking the WW site for the ship's voyage info.

I followed your link to NEMINI. VERY cool. I had no idea that there was a group for Nor'easters. I signed up today.
otra, you think its gonna be that fast?? Back in August I had to wait 10 days after the ship arrived with my car to pick it up (one day extra day because of labor day). Basically there was about 5 days after the boat arrived where it was at the VDC/in transit to the dealership. Then there were the 5 days where it sat on the dealer lot---and got dinged!!! ARRGG!
So in terms of time---if it goes the same way, would be about 8-9days from once the boat arrives putting my guess to be the 18th -20th. BUT, otra, if you are right, and i hope you are....mid-next-week would be AWESOMEEEEEEEEEE!

Mini Is - that's great http://marinetraffic.com/ais/default...ntery=44.62081! Thank you!
I don't think I have ever used that exact site.
Very nice.
the_edge8, I'm not sure what I said about arrival after VDC, but I agree with you that it usually does take anywhere from a week to 10 days for those of us who live in the NY/NJ/CT metro area near the VDC. I'm putting my expectations out to the 29th, and hoping for the 24th.

I guess I'll give my MA a call tomorrow and see what he says, though I don't know that anyone can know for sure until they disembark and get their once overs at the VDC. I'd love to take delivery earlier than I'd thought!

Found the Fedora, again. Let's see if we can keep it this time.
