All Aboard the Fedora! Departing Southampton Oct 1st
When I last looked at the live ship tracker, it was just pulling away from the dock..:D
Aw man. Musta fell off the map again. Too bad I'm not at my last job. I could have run out the door and taken pictures of the ship sailing through the Long Island Sound. Guess we'll have to wait. Not much longer now.
That would have been great, Mini is! Last time I went through this (and if anyone has wondered, but was too polite to ask
, why my '08 is "morphing" into an '09: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...&postcount=242) my MINI was on the Fedora, as well, and another NAM member who happened to have his MINI arriving on the same ship as well, was able to take photos of the Fedora heading into the harbor because he is a tugboat captain!
Here's to calm seas and a tailwind!

I was hoping for a location check, but just thinking that she's supposed to arrive tomorrow. Amazing, isn't it?the_edge8, do you live in the "vicinity"? To me that means anywhere between Philadelphia and Hartford, including some other not too far areas from the VDC?
Well, I'm just a bit away from you over next to the L.I. Sound - if you'll note my location.
My dealership, however, is in Stamford - but my guess is we'll both be celebrating at about the same time.
P.S. If you have any interest in a "local" or regional MINI group check out the link in my signature - it will lead you to a very good group who hail from NJ, NY and CT mostly - with some Pennsylvanians as well as New Englanders thrown in for good measure. Join us for the 10/26 Fall Foliage Run put on by MINI of Fairfield County, if you can.

Here's the link I was talking about:

I don't see us on there yet though...I do see a boat I saw pop up on that live tracker from a couple of nights ago.

How the heck did you get that - it appears one has to log in. Oh, wait - I see...but still it does seem to be updating (at least the clock part is) pretty often. I don't think I've ever seen that particular site before. Very impressive you two!

now is actually the worst part, because 7 weeks ago, or for me--4 months ago--it seemed like it was so far away that it would just never happen. Now is the time where it seems very possible that this car is on its way, its just a matter of finally hearing from the MA about when to pick up, so realistically I would say we are still 5 days away at the earliest; possibly over a week still.

I am feeling MUCH better now.
Yea, not to get everyone freaked, but its possible! my car arrived w a ding on it--on the front of the hood! and they tried to repair it, but it was still visible. esp since this is my first new car, i want the car to be in showroom quality when i drive it off the lot--as it should be.

One of my brother's friends goes out every three years and guys a brand new Benz. The first thing he does when he gets it home is hit the driver's side door with a hammer.
He says he knows that there will be dents and dings and he wants to be the first since it's his car.
Yes, good news indeed! Tick, tock...in slower motion than ever now in anticipation. Who shall be the first among us in the NY/NJ/CT metro area? Or, better yet, shall we all take delivery the same day?
