All Aboard the Independence II!! (Week 37) Leaving Southhampton 9/12/08

I just got confirmation on WW's website, (http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppTracking/) that my clubman (so far it does not have a name) has been received and booked. Anybody else joining me?

Hello Shipmates, I was loaded on Independence II today at 12:52 (still not sure if that's our time or their time) but none the less my Mini is on the ship. ***I'll squeeze over so more of you can join us.

Interesting My car was part of the week 37 build. Maybe they just mooshed 36 and 37 together.

Either way the important thing is that we are that much closer to getting our cars!

Well, I was SUPPOSED to have been on this ship, but when I plug in my VIN, it doesn't recognise it. But here's a picture of the Indpendence II if you're curious and a link to see the webcam. This will probably only be good for the next hour or so:

Well, the ship has sailed. It doesn't look like I'm on it

First I was bumped from week 36 to week 37. Now my car's been sitting on the dock since Wednesday and the boat sailed without her.

Bon Voyage, Y'all. I have to remember that this just gives me a little more time to save for that first car payment.

Ahoy mateys, I'm aboard
And it looks like it's arriving a bit early, 9/21 at noon in NYC!
Those Minis must be eager to chew some asphalt!

The Indy 2 has left Southhampton and is out of tracking. Unfortunately the sailwx.info site has data days old when it docked in Hamburg, so it seems unlikely we'll get daily updates. but I'll definitely check.

I just found you folks. Looks like it's time to switch over here from the Week 36 thread. Patience is the key word now. Each time I ordered a Mini it was when the factory was preparing for a new model year. I waited six months for my '02 Mini, exactly two months for the '06 and it will be a little more than two months for this one. Piece of cake!

The ship tracker at www.sailwx.info should begin to update the location of the Independence II pretty soon. The last one was on Sept 8. All that's left to do now is watch the red dots accumulate. If you haven't gone there yet the ship's call sign is WGAX. Bon voyage.

Just found out that I'm on the Indy. Tracking the ship, it looks like they're having lovely weather, a bit windy though. Hopefully none of the MINIs will get sick!

Anybody else going to Charleston, or will Chester have free rein of the ship?

Tracking the Indy II

Doesn't look like it is often, but it does look like the First Watch officer send in locations.

Happy tracking, just don't zoom out too far or it looks like it will take forever

The dot moved!!! Looks like we're getting 24-hour updates. Not bad.
I'm putting screenshots of the updates over at my lil Mini blog:
http://bluemeeny.blogspot.com/
friends & coworkers kept bugging me to put it on my blog, so I made a separate one.

Nice blog, blue. I was in an accident with a PT Cruiser....my left front hit her right front at 30-35 mph....her fault. My Mini didn't survive, but I walked away without serious injury. So, I fully appreciate how well protected we are in our Mini's.

Anyone who can guess the total number of red dots from Southampton to New York gets a new Mini.

No, not the show...

Its all about the ship's positioning. And as BlueMeanie correctly surmised, it looks like the Indy II is transmitting their postion every 24 hours now.

One day closer boys and girls!!!

6 hours and another Position Update

Another update at 00:00 hours Ship's time places the Mercury like Independence II at 45.30 by 35.35 for all you geo-trackers. For the rest of us laymen it is North/North West of the Altair Seamount.
