All Aboard the Independence II!! (Week 37) Leaving Southhampton 9/12/08
I heard the same thing from my MA.
There is a cost to being the first of the model year to hit the states. All the MCS and MCS Clubmans are being held at the VDC until the EPA approves the emissions.

Still at the VDC
My MA says early next week is the best to expect for delivery to the dealership, then 2-3 more days until they get the title. MINI of Peabody doesn't do weekend pickups so I probably won't be taking delivery until the 6th.
131 days and counting...

I spoke to my and BlueMeanie357's MA (in Northern NJ) and he confirmed that the MCS's have been released by the EPA. My MINI isn't one of the first to arrive, but he said that they are expecting 30 more vehicles by the end of the day.
Sounds awesome! I went to Prague a few years ago and had a blast. Eastern Europe is high on the Go-To list for me.
Got a call from my MA and the news was that my MCS Clubman arrived last night at the dealership.
He was going to try and get my dealer install options done today. I hope to pick her up by Wednesday at the latest!

Lucky dog! Mine ain't there yet. Hoping for Tuesday!
Just got a message from my MA and she said that my MINI should arrive at the dealer(otto's) today! "They are starting to really be pumping MINI's out from the port." These final days of waiting are harder then when I knew the car was still waiting for produstion. It seems like it has almost been a year (really 3.5 months)
Well Michelle emailed me saturday that it would be at the dealer on monday and I emailed her this morning about pickup and wednesday was the earliest I could get. (All the tuesday afternoon to evening spots were filled) SO I think the dealer prep is about a day but it will probably be more of your availability with the time slots they have remaining. I think they only needed to install the mudflaps for me. She said they had 30 come in this weekend and probably more today and more tomorrow.
I'm patiently waiting for my MA to give me an email. Supposedly "expected" today with a delivery for Tomorrow. I hope I get it this week.
On the other hand, a co-worker went to Bayonne where we run an Auto Terminal and saw dozens of Minis being released from the VDC to the BMW lot, so they will be put on carriers soon! Yay!

Congrats!
I still haven't gotten mine. I sent an email to my salesman trying to get an update but didn't hear from him. Gues who I'll be calling first thing in the morning!

Hello All, Anyone in the Midwest that was on the Independence receive their Mini? Or at least hear of an expected date? Name your city if your waiting or have received. Me.......Bloomington, MN MA said week of the 13th (I'm hoping it's next week)!!
Picked up and attempting my best to keep under 4500 RPM. Now it's how fast can I get through the breakin period.
